2019-08-24erofs: move erofs out of stagingGao Xiang1-13/+0
EROFS filesystem has been merged into linux-staging for a year. EROFS is designed to be a better solution of saving extra storage space with guaranteed end-to-end performance for read-only files with the help of reduced metadata, fixed-sized output compression and decompression inplace technologies. In the past year, EROFS was greatly improved by many people as a staging driver, self-tested, betaed by a large number of our internal users, successfully applied to almost all in-service HUAWEI smartphones as the part of EMUI 9.1 and proven to be stable enough to be moved out of staging. EROFS is a self-contained filesystem driver. Although there are still some TODOs to be more generic, we have a dedicated team actively keeping on working on EROFS in order to make it better with the evolution of Linux kernel as the other in-kernel filesystems. As Pavel suggested, it's better to do as one commit since git can do moves and all histories will be saved in this way. Let's promote it from staging and enhance it more actively as a "real" part of kernel for more wider scenarios! 2019-06-26staging: erofs: switch to new decompression backendGao Xiang1-1/+1
This patch integrates new decompression framework to erofs decompression path, and remove the old decompression implementation as well. On kirin980 platform, sequential read is slightly improved to 778MiB/s after the new decompression backend is used. 2019-06-26staging: erofs: introduce generic decompression backendGao Xiang1-1/+1
This patch adds a new generic decompression framework in order to replace the old LZ4-specific decompression code. Even though LZ4 is still the only supported algorithm, yet it is more cleaner and easy to integrate new algorithm than the old almost hard-coded decompression backend. 2019-06-26staging: erofs: add compacted compression indexes supportGao Xiang1-1/+1
This patch aims at compacted compression indexes: 1) cleanup z_erofs_map_blocks_iter and move into zmap.c; 2) add compacted 4/2B decoding support. On kirin980 platform, sequential read is increased about 6% (725MiB/s -> 770MiB/s) on enwik9 dataset if compacted 2B feature is enabled. 2019-05-20staging: erofs: drop unneeded -Wall additionMasahiro Yamada1-1/+1
The top level Makefile adds -Wall globally: KBUILD_CFLAGS := -Wall -Wundef -Werror=strict-prototypes -Wno-trigraphs \ I see two "-Wall" added for compiling objects in drivers/staging/erofs/. 2019-02-04staging: prefix header search paths with $(srctree)/Masahiro Yamada1-1/+1
Currently, the Kbuild core manipulates header search paths in a crazy way [1]. To fix this mess, I want all Makefiles to add explicit $(srctree)/ to the search paths in the srctree. Some Makefiles are already written in that way, but not all. The goal of this work is to make the notation consistent, and finally get rid of the gross hacks. Having whitespaces after -I does not matter since commit 48f6e3cf5bc6 ("kbuild: do not drop -I without parameter"). 2018-11-08staging: erofs: use the new LZ4_decompress_safe_partial()Gao Xiang1-1/+1
LZ4_decompress_safe_partial() can now decode exactly the nb of bytes requested after the upstreamed commit 2209fda323e2 ("lib/lz4: update LZ4 decompressor module"), remove the erofs hacked lz4 decompression code. A more cleaned compressor wrapper will be introduced in the subsequent patches in order to prepare for supporting multiple compression algorithms. 2018-07-27staging: erofs: add a generic z_erofs VLE decompressorGao Xiang1-1/+1
Currently, this patch only simply implements LZ4 decompressor due to its development priority. In the future, erofs will support more compression algorithm and format other than LZ4, thus a generic decompressor interface will be needed. 2018-07-27staging: erofs: introduce a customized LZ4 decompressionGao Xiang1-1/+1
We have to reduce the memory cost as much as possible, so we don't want to decompress more data beyond the output buffer size, however "LZ4_decompress_safe_partial" doesn't guarantee to stop at the arbitary end position, but stop just after its current LZ4 "sequence" is completed. Link: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/lz4c/_3kkz5N6n00 Therefore, I hacked the LZ4 decompression logic by hand, probably NOT the fastest approach, and hope for better implementation. 2018-07-27staging: erofs: add erofs_allocpageGao Xiang1-1/+1
This patch introduces an temporary _on-stack_ page pool to reuse the freed page directly as much as it can for better performance and release all pages at a time, it also slightly reduces the possibility of the potential memory allocation failure. 2018-07-27staging: erofs: add erofs_map_blocks_iterGao Xiang1-0/+1
This patch introduces an iterable L2P mapping operation 'erofs_map_blocks_iter'. Compared with 'erofs_map_blocks', it avoids a number of redundant 'release and regrab' processes if they request the same meta page. 2018-07-27staging: erofs: introduce xattr & acl supportGao Xiang1-0/+1
This implements xattr and acl functionalities. Inline and shared xattrs are introduced for flexibility. Specifically, if the same xattr occurs for many times in a large number of inodes or the value of a xattr is so large that it isn't suitable to be inlined, a shared xattr kept in the xattr meta will be used instead.
