The card did not map jack pins to controls, which prevents PulseAudio/PipeWire from dealing with jack detection. It's likely that jack detection was only tested with the CRAS server and extensions of UCM. 2022-04-14ASoC: soc-card: Create jack kcontrol without pinsAkihiko Odaki1-4/+3
snd_soc_card_jack_new() allowed to create jack kcontrol without pins, but did not create kcontrols. The jack would not have kcontrols if pins were not going to be added. This renames the old snd_soc_card_jack_new() to snd_soc_card_jack_new_pins() for use when pins are provided or will be added later. The new snd_soc_card_jack_new() appropriately creates a jack for use without pins and adds a kcontrol. 2020-07-23ASoC: Intel: kbl_rt5663_rt5514_max98927: Fix kabylake_ssp_fixup functionHarsha Priya1-9/+32
kabylake_ssp_fixup function uses snd_soc_dpcm to identify the codecs DAIs. The HW parameters are changed based on the codec DAI of the stream. The earlier approach to get snd_soc_dpcm was using container_of() macro on snd_pcm_hw_params. The structures have been modified over time and snd_soc_dpcm does not have snd_pcm_hw_params as a reference but as a copy. This causes the current driver to crash when used. This patch changes the way snd_soc_dpcm is extracted. snd_soc_pcm_runtime holds 2 dpcm instances (one for playback and one for capture). 2 codecs on the SSP are dmic (capture) and speakers (playback). Based on the stream direction, snd_soc_dpcm is extracted from snd_soc_pcm_runtime. Tested for all use cases of the driver. 2019-10-28ASoC: eve: implement set_bias_level function for rt5514Brent Lu1-0/+50
The first DMIC capture always fail (zero sequence data from PCM port) after using DSP hotwording function (i.e. Google assistant). This rt5514 codec requires to control mclk directly in the set_bias_level function. Implement this function in machine driver to control the ssp1_mclk clock explicitly could fix this issue. The Android 3.5mm Headset jack specification mentions that BTN_0 should be mapped to KEY_MEDIA, but this is less logical than KEY_PLAYPAUSE, which has much broader userspace support. For example, the Chrome OS userspace now supports KEY_PLAYPAUSE to toggle play/pause of videos and audio, but does not handle KEY_MEDIA. Patch fixes wrong path in commit 0b06122fc8d0 ("ASoC: Intel: kbl: Add map for new DAIs for Multi-Playback & Echo Ref") which resulted in pop noise. Current topology for Headset results in unwanted pop noise, while switching from spk->hs at the start of Headset Playback. Hence re-introduced mixin-mixout dsp module in topology for headset playback pipe to fix the regression. And the corresponding modification for headset route is updated here. 2017-07-28ASoC: Intel: Enabling ASRC for RT5663 codec on kabylake platformHarsha Priya N1-1/+3
This patch fixes the cracking noise in rt5663 headphones for kabylake platform by calling rt5663_sel_asrc_clk_src() for RT5663_AD_STEREO_FILTER to set ASRC. The ASRC function is for asynchronous MCLK and LRCK. For RT5663 ASRC should be enabled to support special i2s clock format like Intel's 100fs. ASRC function will track i2s clock and generate a corresponding system clock for codec. Calling this function helps select the clock source for both RT5663_AD_STEREO_FILTER and RT5663_DA_STEREO_FILTER filters which fixes the crackling sound.
