2022-09-21perf test: Skip wp modify test on old kernelsNamhyung Kim1-2/+8
It uses PERF_EVENT_IOC_MODIFY_ATTRIBUTES ioctl. The kernel would return ENOTTY if it's not supported. Update the skip reason in that case. Committer notes: On s/390 the args aren't used, so need to be marked __maybe_unused. 2021-11-13perf test: Convert watch point tests to test cases.Ian Rogers1-98/+32
Use null terminated array of test cases rather than the previous sub test functions. 2021-11-13perf test: Move each test suite struct to its testIan Rogers1-5/+17
Rather than export test functions, export the test struct. Rename with a suite__ prefix to avoid name collisions. Committer notes: Its '&suite__vectors_page', not '&suite__vectors_pages', noticed when cross building to arm (32-bit). 2020-11-04perf test: Implement skip_reason callback for watchpoint testsTommi Rantala1-6/+15
Currently reason for skipping the read only watchpoint test is only seen when running in verbose mode: $ perf test watchpoint 23: Watchpoint : 23.1: Read Only Watchpoint : Skip 23.2: Write Only Watchpoint : Ok 23.3: Read / Write Watchpoint : Ok 23.4: Modify Watchpoint : Ok $ perf test -v watchpoint 23: Watchpoint : 23.1: Read Only Watchpoint : --- start --- test child forked, pid 60204 Hardware does not support read only watchpoints. test child finished with -2 Implement skip_reason callback for the watchpoint tests, so that it's easy to see reason why the test is skipped: $ perf test watchpoint 23: Watchpoint : 23.1: Read Only Watchpoint : Skip (missing hardware support) 23.2: Write Only Watchpoint : Ok 23.3: Read / Write Watchpoint : Ok 23.4: Modify Watchpoint : Ok Signed-off-by: Tommi Rantala <tommi.t.rantala@nokia.com> Tested-by: Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo <acme@redhat.com> Acked-by: Namhyung Kim <namhyung@kernel.org> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20201016131650.72476-1-tommi.t.rantala@nokia.com Signed-off-by: Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo <acme@redhat.com>
2019-08-31perf debug: Remove needless include directives from debug.hArnaldo Carvalho de Melo1-0/+3
All we need there is a forward declaration for 'union perf_event', so remove it from there and add missing header directives in places using things from this indirect include. 2019-08-29perf tools: Move everything related to sys_perf_event_open() to perf-sys.hArnaldo Carvalho de Melo1-0/+2
And remove unneeded include directives from perf-sys.h to prune the header dependency tree. Fixup the fallout in places where definitions were being used without the needed include directives that were being satisfied because they were in perf-sys.h. 2018-10-08perf test: S390 does not support watchpoints in test 22Thomas Richter1-0/+12
S390 does not support the perf_event_open system call for attribute type PERF_TYPE_BREAKPOINT. 2018-09-18perf test: Add watchpoint testRavi Bangoria1-0/+229
We don't have a 'perf test' entry available to test the watchpoint functionality. Add a simple set of tests: - Read only watchpoint - Write only watchpoint - Read / Write watchpoint - Runtime watchpoint modification Ex.: on powerpc: $ sudo perf test 22 22: Watchpoint : 22.1: Read Only Watchpoint : Ok 22.2: Write Only Watchpoint : Ok 22.3: Read / Write Watchpoint : Ok 22.4: Modify Watchpoint : Ok Signed-off-by: Ravi Bangoria <ravi.bangoria@linux.ibm.com> Acked-by: Jiri Olsa <jolsa@kernel.org> Tested-by: Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo <acme@redhat.com> Cc: Alexander Shishkin <alexander.shishkin@linux.intel.com> Cc: Hendrik Brueckner <brueckner@linux.ibm.com> Cc: Kate Stewart <kstewart@linuxfoundation.org> Cc: Kim Phillips <kim.phillips@arm.com> Cc: Namhyung Kim <namhyung@kernel.org> Cc: Naveen N.
