2022-05-16dax: introduce DAX_RECOVERY_WRITE dax access modeJane Chu1-1/+3
Up till now, dax_direct_access() is used implicitly for normal access, but for the purpose of recovery write, dax range with poison is requested. To make the interface clear, introduce enum dax_access_mode { DAX_ACCESS, DAX_RECOVERY_WRITE, } where DAX_ACCESS is used for normal dax access, and DAX_RECOVERY_WRITE is used for dax recovery write. 2018-07-30tools/testing/nvdimm: kaddr and pfn can be NULL to ->direct_access()Huaisheng Ye1-4/+8
The mock / test version of pmem_direct_access() needs to check the validity of pointers kaddr and pfn for NULL assignment. If anyone equals to NULL, it doesn't need to calculate the value. If pointer equals to NULL, that is to say callers may have no need for kaddr or pfn, so this patch is prepared for allowing them to pass in NULL instead of having to pass in a local pointer or variable that they then just throw away. 2017-04-19pmem: add dax_operations supportDan Williams1-11/+10
Setup a dax_device to have the same lifetime as the pmem block device and add a ->direct_access() method that is equivalent to pmem_direct_access(). Once fs/dax.c has been converted to use dax_operations the old pmem_direct_access() will be removed. Signed-off-by: Dan Williams <dan.j.williams@intel.com>
2016-07-12pmem: kill __pmem address spaceDan Williams1-1/+1
The __pmem address space was meant to annotate codepaths that touch persistent memory and need to coordinate a call to wmb_pmem(). Now that wmb_pmem() is gone, there is little need to keep this annotation. 2016-06-27tools/testing/nvdimm: replace CONFIG_DMA_CMA dependency with vmalloc()Dan Williams1-5/+17
DMA_CMA is incompatible with SWIOTLB used in enterprise distro configurations. Switch to vmalloc() allocations for all resources. Acked-by: Johannes Thumshirn <jthumshirn@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Dan Williams <dan.j.williams@intel.com>
2016-06-24libnvdimm, pmem: allow nfit_test to override pmem_direct_access()Dan Williams1-0/+42
Currently phys_to_pfn_t() is an exported symbol to allow nfit_test to override it and indicate that nfit_test-pmem is not device-mapped. Now, we want to enable nfit_test to operate without DMA_CMA and the pmem it provides will no longer be physically contiguous, i.e. won't be capable of supporting direct_access requests larger than a page. Make pmem_direct_access() a weak symbol so that it can be replaced by the tools/testing/nvdimm/ version, and move phys_to_pfn_t() to a static inline now that it no longer needs to be overridden.
