2026-02-21Convert 'alloc_obj' family to use the new default GFP_KERNEL argumentLinus Torvalds1-1/+1
This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using git grep -l '\<k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' | xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/' to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL argument to just drop that argument. Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered: they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically. For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate conversion. Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
2026-02-21treewide: Replace kmalloc with kmalloc_obj for non-scalar typesKees Cook1-2/+2
This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union object instances: Single allocations: kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...) Array allocations: kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...) Flex array allocations: kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...) (where TYPE may also be *VAR) The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning "TYPE *". Signed-off-by: Kees Cook <kees@kernel.org>
2023-10-09accel/habanalabs: Move ioctls to the device specific ioctls rangeTomer Tayar1-2/+3
To use drm_ioctl(), move the ioctls to the device specific ioctls range at [DRM_COMMAND_BASE, DRM_COMMAND_END). Signed-off-by: Tomer Tayar <ttayar@habana.ai> Reviewed-by: Oded Gabbay <ogabbay@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Oded Gabbay <ogabbay@kernel.org>
2023-06-08accel/habanalabs: remove support for mmu disableOfir Bitton1-6/+0
As mmu disable mode is only used for bring-up stages, let's remove this option and all code related to it. Signed-off-by: Ofir Bitton <obitton@habana.ai> Reviewed-by: Oded Gabbay <ogabbay@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Oded Gabbay <ogabbay@kernel.org>
2023-04-08accel/habanalabs: unmap mapped memory when TLB inv failsKoby Elbaz1-3/+12
Once a memory mapping is added to the page tables, it's followed by a TLB invalidation request which could potentially fail (HW failure). Removing the mapping is simply a part of this failure handling routine. TLB invalidation failure prints were updated to be more accurate. 2023-01-26habanalabs: move some prints to debug levelOded Gabbay1-1/+1
When entering an IOCTL, the driver prints a message in case device is not operational. This message should be printed in debug level as it can spam the kernel log and it is not an error. Signed-off-by: Oded Gabbay <ogabbay@kernel.org>
2023-01-26habanalabs: verify that kernel CB is destroyed only onceTomer Tayar1-18/+14
Remove the distinction between user CB and kernel CB, and verify for both that they are not destroyed more than once. As kernel CB might be taken from the pre-allocated CB pool, so we need to clear the handle destroyed indication when returning a CB to the pool. 2023-01-26habanalabs: move driver to accel subsystemOded Gabbay1-0/+558
Now that we have a subsystem for compute accelerators, move the habanalabs driver to it. This patch only moves the files and fixes the Makefiles. Future patches will change the existing code to register to the accel subsystem and expose the accel device char files instead of the habanalabs device char files. Update the MAINTAINERS file to reflect this change. Signed-off-by: Oded Gabbay <ogabbay@kernel.org>
