Pull networking updates from Jakub Kicinski:
"One of the 'small improvements all over the place' releases for us.
It's hard to draw any direct comparisons because summer vacations
disrupted our patch processing (and presumably - generation) quite a
bit.
Quick and dirty count suggests we (Paolo and I) merged a very similar
number of net (632) and net-next (648) patches. This is not telling
the full story either because 1/3 to 1/2 of the net-next patches also
*seem* like AI-driven low priority fixes, cleanups and clarifications.
We are completely overwhelmed, of course. The glimmer of hope is that
we secured sufficient LLM budget and access (thank you Meta!) to run
reviews with multiple frontier models on each patch. This eliminates
some hallucinations. That said, in terms of review, the LLMs can only
do so much.
The sad truth is that our APIs (especially for rare events like PCIe
errors, timeouts etc) have always been racy, and now LLMs don't let us
ignore that. I expect our direction for the next release will be to
tweak the reviews a little bit more, but start shifting focus to
letting the LLMs take care of the busy work - managing patchwork,
automating common process complaints, editing commit messages, and
maybe applying patches which already got "reviewed-by" tags from
people we trust...

Add device tree bindings for the MediaTek MT7628 embedded Ethernet
Switch.
The Switch provides 5 external user ports and 1 internal CPU port, with
integrated 10/100 PHYs and fixed port to PHY mapping.
The CPU port is internally connected and uses port index 6.

Add a binding for the microcontroller (MCU) that fronts the PSE silicon
on a range of managed Realtek-based switches. The host talks only to the
MCU, over I2C/SMBus or UART, using a fixed message-based protocol; the
PSE chips behind it never appear on the bus.
The device is the MCU together with its Realtek firmware: the firmware
and its host protocol are what the binding describes, not the
general-purpose microcontroller they run on. The PSE silicon behind the
MCU (Realtek or Broadcom) is reported by the MCU and detected at runtime,
so it is not described here - hence the 'realtek' vendor prefix.
Two protocol generations exist, both Realtek's, selected by the
compatible: gen1 on older boards (fronting Broadcom PSE silicon) and gen2,
the altered protocol used with Realtek's own PSE silicon. On an I2C
attachment the framing the MCU firmware expects is part of the compatible
as well - '-smbus' or raw '-i2c'; a UART attachment carries no framing
suffix, as the transport is given by the parent serial node.
Each board additionally carries a device-specific compatible that falls
back to one of the protocol compatibles above. Drivers bind on the
protocol compatible; the device-specific string identifies the board and
reserves a place for a future per-board quirk without having to retrofit
device trees already in the field.

The Xilinx CAN and CANFD controllers can be connected to an external
CAN transceiver on the board. That connection is described with the
standard "phys" property on the controller node, pointing to a CAN
transceiver PHY node which models the transceiver and its control
lines (for example the standby/enable signals).
Describe the optional "phys" property (a single transceiver PHY) so
the on-board CAN transceiver can be described in the device tree.

RK3588 integrates a Rockchip CAN-FD controller variant that is not
fully compatible with RK3568v2. The RX FIFO count register field is
encoded in bits 7:5 on RK3588, while RK3568v2 uses bits 6:4.
Add a dedicated rockchip,rk3588-canfd compatible to describe this
variant. Do not use rockchip,rk3568v2-canfd as a fallback, because that
would describe a register layout that does not match the hardware.

Add device tree binding documentation for the DAPU Telecom DAP8211R(I)
Gigabit Ethernet PHY.
The PHY supports TX and RX clock delays in 150 ps steps from 0 to 2250 ps,
with a default of 1950 ps if not specified.

The EcoNet EN7528 MIPS SoC integrates an MT7530 Gigabit switch,
memory-mapped in the SoC register space like the built-in switches of
the MediaTek MT7988 and Airoha EN7581/AN7583 SoCs. Its four user ports
are connected to integrated Gigabit PHYs and its CPU port is connected
internally to the SoC Ethernet MAC.
Those three switches are MT7531-based, whereas the EN7528 has a genuine
MT7530 switch core (its chip revision register reads 0x7530). The two
generations differ in their register programming - for example the CPU
port is selected through the MT7530-style MFC register rather than the
MT7531 CFC register - so the EN7528 is not compatible with the existing
switch compatibles and cannot fall back to one of them.
Add the econet,en7528-switch compatible, with the same constraints as
the other built-in switches.

The EIC7700 SoC integrates two GMAC instances. The eth1 MAC exhibits
different RX clock sampling characteristics due to silicon-inherent
timing behavior.
The eth1 MAC has a fixed, non-configurable RX clock-to-data skew at the
MAC input in the order of 4-5 ns. This cannot be compensated solely by
the standard MAC internal delay configuration and PHY delay, and RX clock
inversion is required at 1000Mbps for correct sampling.
The eth1 TX path also includes a fixed silicon-inherent delay of
approximately 2 ns. This delay is always present and cannot be disabled.
It is therefore part of the effective transmit timing observed on the
wire.
For the eth1 variant, the valid tx-internal-delay-ps values include
this fixed delay component. Consequently, the effective range becomes
2000-4540 ps (approximately 2000 ps fixed delay plus 0-2540 ps
programmable delay).
Introduce a dedicated compatible string
"eswin,eic7700-qos-eth-clk-inversion" to represent the eth1 variant,
allowing the driver to apply RX clock inversion only when required by
hardware variant selection.
This keeps SoC-level differentiation without exposing silicon-fixed skew
as configurable device tree parameters.
To reflect this, model the TX internal delay as a base 0-4540 ps range,
and constrain valid values per compatible using conditional schema rules.
Update the binding schema as follows:
- Define tx-internal-delay-ps as a base range: 0-4540 ps
- Add compatible-specific constraints using if/then rules:
* eswin,eic7700-qos-eth:
max 2540 ps
* eswin,eic7700-qos-eth-clk-inversion:
minimum 2000 ps (effective range 2000-4540 ps)
No functional change for existing "eswin,eic7700-qos-eth" users.

Relax internal delay constraints for EIC7700 Ethernet binding.
Replace fixed enumeration of rx-internal-delay-ps and tx-internal-delay-ps
with a range-based definition (0-2540 ps, 20 ps steps) to reflect actual
hardware capability.
Mark rx/tx internal delay properties as optional, as they are board-
specific tuning parameters rather than mandatory configuration.
Update the device tree example to align with the relaxed constraint model
and remove delay properties from the example to avoid implying they are
required.
No functional change to existing DT users.

The stmmac hardware on Agilex5 supports 8 TX/RX queue pairs and is
dma-coherent. Update the schema to handle the hardware differences
between SoC variants.
Also make 'interrupts' and 'interrupt-names' as required properties.

Emails to the maintainer of Qualcomm PPE Ethernet driver (Luo Jie
<quic_luoj@quicinc.com>) bounce permanently (full mailbox), because the
"quicinc.com" addresses were deprecated for public work. All Qualcomm
contributors are aware of that and were asked to fix their addresses.
Driver is not supported - in terms of how netdev understands supported
commitment - if maintainer does not care to receive the patches for its
code, so demote it to "maintained" to reflect true status.
Fix all occurences of Luo Jie email address to preferred and working
domain.

Pull SoC devicetree updates from Arnd Bergmann:
"There are fewer devicetree updates this time that the last few ones,
with five SoC types getting added:
- Qualcomm Dragonwing IPQ9650 is a new wireless networking SoC using
four Cortex-A55 and one Cortex-A78 core, which is a significant
upgrade from older generations
- ZTE zx297520v3 is an older low-end wireless SoC using a single
Cortex-A53 core, which so far can only run 32-bit kernels. This
brings back the ZX family of chips that was removed in 2021 after
support for the original zx296702 and zx296718 chips was never
completed.
- Renesas R-Car M3Le (R8A779MD) is a variant of the R-Car M3-N
(R8A77965) automotive SoC.
- Apple t8122 (M3) is the 2023 generation of their laptop SoCs, which
has now been reverse-engineered to the point of having initial
kernel support for five laptop models.
- ASPEED AST27xx is their first baseboard managment controller using
a 64-bit core, the Cortex-A35, following earlier generations using
ARMv5/v6/v7 CPUs.
These all come with one or more initial boards, and in total there are
39 new boards getting added across SoC families, including:
- Two NAS boxes using the old Cortina Systems Gemini SoC based on an
ARMv4 FA526 CPU core
- 18 industrial embedded boards using NXP i.MX6/8/9 and LX2160A SoCs
from Variscite, Toradex and SolidRun, plus a number of overlays for
combinations with additional boards
- One new carrier board and SoM using TI K3 AM62x, in addition to new
overlays for older SoMs
- Two new boards using Spacemit K3 (no relation with TI) RISC-V SoCs.
- Three phones from Google, Nothing and Motorola, all using Qualcomm
Snapdragon SoCs
- AST26xx BMC support for two server boards
While there is still a significant number of patches improving
hardware support for the existing boards across vendors (NXP,
Qualcomm, Renesas, Rockchips, Mediatek, ...), a much smaller number
of cleanups and warning fixes have made it in this time"

According to OPEN Alliance 10BASE-T1x MACPHY Serial Interface (TC6)
specification, interrupt type is active low, level triggered interrupt.
Specification calls for when interrupt level will be asserted and what
condition it is de-asserted. By using edge triggered interrupt, there is a
potential chance to miss it, particularly if it is asserted when interrupt
is disabled.
Level triggered interrupt can't be missed as it gets de-asserted only on
interrupt handler taking actions on interrupting conditions.

The 10G Realtek Otto switches are divided into two series
- Longan: RTL930x up to 28 ports
- Mango : RTL931x up to 56 ports
The Mango based devices have 3 different SoCs RTL9311, RTL9312 and RTL9313.
The MDIO controller of these switches works like the existing RTL930x
logic but has different characteristics and different registers. Add new
compatibles in the device tree.

The clocks property has a restriction to maximum one.
Yet, some PHYs may require more than 1 clock such as the IPQ5018 PHY
which requires two clocks for RX and TX. As such, increase maxItems to
two.

EN7581 and AN7583 SoCs support connecting multiple external SerDes to GDM3
or GDM4 ports via a hw arbiter that manages the traffic in a TDM manner.
As a result multiple net_devices can connect to the same GDM{3,4} port
and there is a theoretical "1:n" relation between GDM ports and
net_devices.
Introduce the ethernet node child of a specific GDM port in order to model
a given net_device that is connected via the external arbiter to the
GDM{3,4} port. This new ethernet node is defined by the "airoha,eth-port"
compatible string. Please note GDM1 and GDM2 does not support the
connection with the external arbiter and they are represented by an
ethernet node defined by the "airoha,eth-mac" compatible string.

dsa.txt has been a redirect to dsa.yaml since commit bce58590d1bd
("dt-bindings: net: dsa: Add DSA yaml binding") introduced the .yaml
schema. The .yaml has the same filename in the same directory, making
this redirect unnecessary for discoverability.
Two files still reference dsa.txt, forcing readers through an extra
hop to reach the .yaml. The stub has not been touched since August
2020. Update references in lan9303.txt and
Documentation/networking/dsa/dsa.rst to point directly to dsa.yaml
and remove the stub.

mdio.txt has been a single-line redirect to mdio.yaml since
commit 62d77ff7ecbf ("dt-bindings: net: Add a YAML schemas for the
generic MDIO options"), which introduced the .yaml schema and reduced
the .txt to a stub in the same change. The .yaml has the same filename
in the same directory, making this redirect unnecessary for
discoverability.
No files in the tree reference mdio.txt and it has not been touched
since June 2019. Remove the obsolete stub.

Commit c36069c6f46c ("dt-bindings: ethernet: eswin: add optional TXD and
RXD delay register offsets") added two optional cells to eswin,hsp-sp-csr
but omitted minItems: 4.
As a result, dt-schema implicitly required all 6 cells, which broke
backward compatibility with existing 4-cell device trees.
Add minItems: 4 to preserve backward compatibility.

The jhb100 GMAC still using Synopsys designware GMAC core.
hardware features are similar with jh7100.
Add jhb100 GMAC compatible and reset, interrupts features.
jhb100 dwmac has only one reset signal and one interrupt
line.
jhb100 SGMII interface tx/rx mac clock is split and require to
set clock rate in 10M/100M/1000M speed. So dts need to add a
new rx clock in code, dts and dt binding doc.

Add bindings for NETC switch. This switch is a PCIe function of NETC IP,
it supports advanced QoS with 8 traffic classes and 4 drop resilience
levels, and a full range of TSN standards capabilities. The switch CPU
port connects to an internal ENETC port, which is also a PCIe function
of NETC IP. So these two ports use a light-weight "pseudo MAC" instead
of a back-to-back MAC, because the "pseudo MAC" provides the delineation

The current description indicates that the 'dsa,member' property cannot
be set for a switch that is not part of any cluster. Vladimir thinks
that this is a case where the actual technical limitation was poorly
transposed into words when this restriction was first documented, in
commit 8c5ad1d6179d ("net: dsa: Document new binding").
The true technical limitation is that many DSA tagging protocols are
topology-unaware, and always call dsa_conduit_find_user() with a
switch_id of 0. Specifying a custom "dsa,member" property with a
non-zero switch_id would break them.
Therefore, for topology-aware switches, it is fine to specify this
property for them, even if they are not part of any cluster. Our NETC
switch is a good example which is topology-aware, the switch_id is
carried in the switch tag, but the switch_id 0 is reserved for VEPA
switch and cannot be used, so we need to use this property to assign
a non-zero switch_id for it.

Document two optional cells in eswin,hsp-sp-csr for the TXD and RXD
delay control register offsets.
These registers are used by the driver to clear any residual delay
configuration left by the bootloader, ensuring that MAC-side RGMII delay
settings are applied solely according to the kernel configuration.
Add a reference to the EIC7700X SoC Technical Reference Manual for
background information about the HSP CSR block.

The SPI version of Prism54 was sold under a couple of different
names and supported by the Linux p54spi driver, but there was
never a DT binding for it.
Document the four known names of this device and the properties
that are sufficient for its use on the Nokia N8x0 tablet.
As I don't have this hardware or documentation for it, this is
purely based on existing usage in the driver.

prefixing ethernet switches and ports with "ethernet-" so
make the LAN966x do the same.
