"interrupt" becomes "irq" in: dce_vX_0_set_hpd_interrupt_state() dce_vX_0_set_crtc_interrupt_state() dce_vX_0_set_pageflip_interrupt_state() It is easier when going through the code to just change the DCE number in the functions' name to find and compare them across DCE versions. Also, it standardizes function mapping inside a given structure where .set and .process are both set to functions with a "_irq" suffix. 2024-12-18drm/amd/display: add non-DC drm_panic supportAlex Deucher1-0/+26
Add support for the drm_panic module, which displays a pretty user friendly message on the screen when a Linux kernel panic occurs. Adapt Lu Yao's code to use common helpers derived from Jocelyn's patch. This extends the non-DC code to enable access to non-CPU accessible VRAM and adds support for other DCE versions. Instead of manually passing around 'struct edid *' and its size, use 'struct drm_edid', which encapsulates a validated combination of both. As the drm_edid_ can handle NULL gracefully, the explicit checks can be dropped. Also save a few characters by transforming '&array[0]' to the equivalent 'array' and using 'max_t(int, ...)' instead of manual casts. 2024-05-23drm/amdgpu: remove amdgpu_connector_edid() and stop using edid_blob_ptrJani Nikula1-2/+2
amdgpu_connector_edid() copies the EDID from edid_blob_ptr as a side effect if amdgpu_connector->edid isn't initialized. However, everywhere that the returned EDID is used, the EDID should have been set beforehands. Only the drm EDID code should look at the EDID property, anyway, so stop using it. 2024-02-07drm/amdgpu: Clear the hotplug interrupt ack bit before hpd initializationQiang Ma1-4/+18
Problem: The computer in the bios initialization process, unplug the HDMI display, wait until the system up, plug in the HDMI display, did not enter the hotplug interrupt function, the display is not bright. Fix: After the above problem occurs, and the hpd ack interrupt bit is 1, the interrupt should be cleared during hpd_init initialization so that when the driver is ready, it can respond to the hpd interrupt normally. 2023-01-05drm/amdgpu: Retry DDC probing on DVI on failure if we got an HPD interruptxurui1-3/+3
HPD signals on DVI ports can be fired off before the pins required for DDC probing actually make contact, due to the pins for HPD making contact first. This results in a HPD signal being asserted but DDC probing failing, resulting in hotplugging occasionally failing. Rescheduling the hotplug work for a second when we run into an HPD signal with a failing DDC probe usually gives enough time for the rest of the connector's pins to make contact, and fixes this issue. 2022-10-19drm: Remove drm_mode_config::fb_baseZack Rusin1-2/+0
The fb_base in struct drm_mode_config has been unused for a long time. Some drivers set it and some don't leading to a very confusing state where the variable can't be relied upon, because there's no indication as to which driver sets it and which doesn't. The only usage of fb_base is internal to two drivers so instead of trying to force it into all the drivers to get it into a coherent state completely remove it. 2022-01-31drm: introduce fb_modifiers_not_supported flag in mode_configTomohito Esaki1-0/+2
If only linear modifier is advertised, since there are many drivers that only linear supported, the DRM core should handle this rather than open-coding in every driver. However, there are legacy drivers such as radeon that do not support modifiers but infer the actual layout of the underlying buffer. Spelling out _unlocked for each and every driver is a annoying. Especially if we consider how many drivers, do not know (or need to) about the horror stories involving struct_mutex. Just drop the suffix. It makes the API cleaner.
