Pull bpf fixes from Eduard Zingerman:
- Fix tcp_bpf_sendmsg() error path mistaking a concurrently-freed
sk_psock->cork for the local temporary message and freeing it again
(Chengfeng Ye)
- Reject passing scalar NULL to nonnull arg of a global subprog.
Previously the verifier did not account for the cases directly
passing scalars to a global subprog, e.g.: 'global_func(0);' would
pass even if 'global_func' argument was marked nonnull (Amery Hung)

Netfilter/IPVS fixes for net
The following batch contains Netfilter/IPVS fixes for net. This batch
includes a mix of IPVS follow ups related to Sashiko reports, as well as
crash fixes for connection tracking expectation, helpers, ipset and
nf_tables mostly for old bugs. This also includes a fix for the
flowtable tunnel selftest.
1) Use s32 instead of s16 to calculate the remaining payload containing
SIP messages, otherwise underflow is possible allowing out-of-bound
memory access beyond the skb->data area. From Xiang Mei.
2) Fix the counter check in the flowtable selftest for tunnels, from
Lorenzo Bianconi.
3) Add and use nf_ct_expect_related_pair() to add the RTP and RTCP
expectations under the expectation lock, this is required by the SIP
and H.323 NAT helpers. This fixes a possible reinsertion of an
expectation with the DEAD flag set on while looping to find
consecutive ports.
4) Fix ipset UaF during table resize by blocking comment updates on
kernel-side adds. From David Lee.
5) Do not propagate the IP_VS_CONN_F_ONE_PACKET flag when using IPVS
state synchronization, otherwise reaching stale freed from
ip_vs_conn struct is possible, Zhiling Zou.
6) Adjust the hn1 hash node when the forwarding method changes between
MASQ and non-MASQ for an already hashed connection. This can leave
stale hash nodes pointing to a freed struct ip_vs_conn and trigger
UaF while reading /proc/net/ip_vs_conn. From Julian Anastasov.
7) nft_object rhltable needs to be per table, just like chain rhltable,
otherwise UaF from object lookup path while netns is being released.
There is also the nlevent path that can reach stale objects. Placing
this rhltable under the table hierarchy fixes this issue.
8) Reject invalid combined usage of hashlimit tables with and without
XT_HASHLIMIT_RATE_MATCH flag mode, otherwise access to uninitialized
.burst field of dsthash_ent is possible.
9) Fix checksum validations in IPVS performed from LOCAL_IN,
from Julian Anastasov.
10) Fix incorrect packet offset to layer 4 protocol in IPVS, uncovered
by Sashiko, from Julian Anastasov.
11) Skip the mangling of ICMP replies for non-first fragments, also
reported by Sashiko. Also from Julian.
12) Clear ip_vs_conn flags under the spinlock to fix a possible data
race. From Julian Anastasov.
13) Fix incorrect calculation of the payload bitmask in the nf_tables
hardware offload support, leading to UBSAN splat. From Xiang Mei.

Invalid Tx descriptors are now returned through the completion ring,
regardless of whether they form a standalone packet or belong to an
invalid multi-buffer packet.
The selftests previously counted only descriptors belonging to valid
packets, with a special exception for some invalid multi-buffer packets
in verbatim streams. This undercounts completion entries when a
standalone invalid descriptor or another invalid packet is reclaimed by
the kernel.
Keep valid_pkts as the number of packets expected on the Rx side, but
count every descriptor submitted to the Tx ring in valid_frags, as every
such descriptor is now expected to be returned through the completion
ring.
Make fragment counting in verbatim mode follow the packet boundary
instead of stopping at the first invalid fragment. Update custom stream
generation so an invalid middle fragment terminates the generated Rx
packet while Tx completion accounting still covers the complete invalid
packet.
Also add explicit end fragments after invalid middle descriptors. This
exercises the kernel drain logic and verifies that subsequent valid
packets are not interpreted as continuations of the invalid packet.

The too-many-frags test describes a packet that is valid from the Tx
ring ownership point of view, but invalid for transmission because it
exceeds the supported number of fragments.
Keep the generated Tx descriptors valid so that __send_pkts() accounts
them as outstanding descriptors that must be reclaimed through the CQ.
Then mark the corresponding Rx packet invalid so the test still does
not expect the oversized packet to appear on the receive side.
Add a valid synchronization packet after the oversized packet so the
test can verify that the Tx path drains the bad packet and resumes at
the next packet boundary.

scx_bpf_cidperf_set() reaches cpufreq with no cap check, so any cid-form
sub-sched can steer the frequency of any cid in its view, including ones it
holds nothing on.
Gate it behind a new SCX_CAP_PERF rather than SCX_CAP_BASE: hardware control
is a separate axis from queue access - a parent may well delegate scheduling
on a cid without handing over its frequency. PERF neither implies nor is
implied by the other caps. The check runs under the target rq's lock, which
ecaps updates are also folded under, so it is authoritative - a write can
never land after a revoke has taken effect. Denials are counted in
SCX_EV_SUB_CIDPERF_DENIED.
The operation is synchronous and the outcome is reported to the caller:
scx_bpf_cidperf_set() now returns 0 or -errno, -EACCES on denial. The
cid-form interface is still under initial development, so the signature is
changed in place without versioning.
scx_qmap grants PERF alongside its existing cid grants so the cpuperf demo
keeps working in sub-scheds.

The tools restart when the kernel exits the scheduler with
SCX_ECODE_ACT_RESTART. The restart decision doesn't consult exit_req, so an
exit request arriving while the restart condition persists is ignored and
the tool reloads in a tight loop. Test exit_req before restarting.
scx_userland needs more: its main loop never watches the kernel-side exit
and exit_req doubles as the stats printer's stop signal, set by the teardown
and reset on each restart. Add the missing UEI_EXITED() test and give the
printer its own stop flag so that exit_req only means an exit request and
stays latched like in the other tools.

Add a regression test for the unix_listen() state check. The key case is
listen() on a bound socket that has already been connected: it is no
longer in TCP_CLOSE or TCP_LISTEN, so it must fail with EINVAL. A
prepare_peercred() call slipped in ahead of that check once left err at 0
and made listen() silently succeed there instead; this guards against a
repeat.
The neighbouring outcomes are covered too so they cannot regress the same
way: a bound socket in TCP_CLOSE listens fine, calling listen() again on a
socket already in TCP_LISTEN is allowed, and an unbound socket fails with
EINVAL.
Each case runs for both listenable socket types (SOCK_STREAM and
SOCK_SEQPACKET) and both pathname and abstract addresses.

Write permissions on the /dev/udmabuf device file are not required to
issue ioctls and allocate udmabufs. Applications should be opening this
file as O_RDONLY. The BPF dmabuf_iter selftest already does this. [1]
Users are pointing to these selftests as examples of how use udmabuf,
and encountering permission errors on systems where write permissions
are not available on /dev/udmabuf. Apply the principle of least
privilege to selftests which use udmabuf by removing the write access

Currently, there is no RISC-V support for get_preempt_count() and
its fallback path always returns 0.
Add it so that bpf_in_interrupt(), bpf_in_nmi(), bpf_in_hardirq(),
bpf_in_serving_softirq(), and bpf_in_task() work for RISC-V as well.
Given that RISC-V has supported CONFIG_THREAD_INFO_IN_TASK since its
initial commit fbe934d69eb7 ("RISC-V: Build Infrastructure") in 2017,
directly retrieve preempt_count from the thread_info embedded within
task_struct via bpf_get_current_task_btf().
This aligns the implementation with arm64, powerpc, and loongarch.

When running instance tests, 'ftracetest' creates a new ftrace instance
and runs the tests inside it. Before starting each test, it executes
'initialize_system()' to reset the ftrace state to initial-state.
However, since 'initialize_system()' is executed in the context of the
instance directory, it only cleans up triggers and filters of that
instance.
Any triggers or dynamic events left behind in the top-level instance by
previous failed top-level tests, are left completely untouched. These
top-level leftovers can cause subsequent instance-based tests to fail
or even crash the kernel.
Fix this by executing 'initialize_system()' in the top-level tracing
directory once before entering the instance loop.

Add a wakeup monitor to detect a lower-priority task waking up a
higher-priority task.
The rtapp/sleep monitor already detects this. However, that monitor
triggers an error in the context of the wakee task and user only gets
the stacktrace of that task. It is also extremely useful to get the
stacktrace of the waker task, which this monitor offers. In other
words, this monitor complements the rtapp/sleep monitor.

The rtapp/sleep monitor's primary purpose is detecting common mistakes
with user-space real-time design. Monitoring real-time issues with
kernel threads is a bonus.
However, accomodating kernel threads complicates the monitor due to
the edge cases which is seen by the monitor as lower-priority task
waking higher-priority task:
- kthread_stop() wakes up the task in order to stop it.
- The rcu thread and migration thread can be woken by any task.
- The ktimerd thread is woken near the end of irq_exit_rcu(), where
the preempt counter is "broken" and falsely says this is task
context. This requires the monitor to use the hardirq_context flag
instead of the preempt counter.
Beside complicating the monitor, the final case also requires enabling
CONFIG_TRACE_IRQFLAGS (so that "hardirq_context" can be used). This
adds overhead to the kernel even when the monitor is not active. This
may be an obstacle to enabling this monitor in distros' kernels.
Furthermore, kernel threads usually are started before the monitor is
enabled. Consequently, the threads' states (i.o.w. the monitor's
atomic propositions for the threads) are not fully known to the
monitor. As a result, the kernel threads mostly cannot be monitored.
Overall, the downsides of accomodating kernel threads outweights the
benefits. Thus, exclude kernel threads to simplify the monitor.

The rtapp/sleep monitor detects real-time tasks which go to sleep in an
real-time-unsafe manner. If this happen, the monitor triggers a trace event
in the sched_wakeup tracepoint's handler.
However, the invoking context of that trace event is not the most
informative, because of the stack trace of that event is the wakeup's code
path which is not very helpful:

0.000 [003] xfce4-terminal/2201 kmem:kfree(call_site: -1714572588, ptr: 0xffff8afee0303000)
After this change, "call_site" is correctly represented in hexadecimal:
0.000 [003] xfce4-terminal/2201 kmem:kfree(call_site: 0xffffffff99cf1194, ptr: 0xffff8afee0303000)
This improves the readability of perf trace output by making code
addresses straightforward to parse and map to kernel symbols.

Introduce a new '--bitmask-list' command-line option for 'perf trace'.
When this option is specified, the formatting of cpumasks is delegated
to bitmap_scnprintf(), enabling cpumasks to be displayed as a condensed,
human-readable list (e.g., "0,2-5,7") instead of the default hexadecimal
representation. An example is provided below:
❯ sudo ./perf trace --show-cpu --bitmask-list --event ipi:ipi_send_cpumask --max-event 5
0.000 [000] Xorg/1434 ipi:ipi_send_cpumask(cpumask: 2-3,6, callsite: 0xffffffff9994f8e4, callback: 0xffffffff9994fdd0)
694.527 [002] chrome/2894 ipi:ipi_send_cpumask(cpumask: 1,3-5, callsite: 0xffffffff9994f8e4, callback: 0xffffffff9994fdd0)

Currently, dynamic non-array fields such as 'cpumask_t' are mishandled in
'perf trace', causing the raw length and offset descriptors to be interpreted
and displayed as a literal integer (e.g., "cpumask: 524320" instead of the
actual mask data).
Correct the parsing of dynamic fields that do not have the
TEP_FIELD_IS_ARRAY flag set by introducing helper functions
format_field__get_raw_data() and format_field__get_cpumask().
Using these helpers, resolve the pointer to the raw bits within the
payload and format the cpumask as a zero-padded hexadecimal string by default.

Currently, jevents.py parses hundreds of JSON event and metric files
sequentially across all CPU architectures during Kbuild startup,
taking ~3.5 seconds of single-core execution time.
Refactor jevents.py to pre-populate its internal JSON AST cache in
parallel across all available CPU cores using
ProcessPoolExecutor. First gather all the paths with ftw and
collect_json, then spawn _parallel_read_json_events that starts
workers to just read the json events. Define the worker process
initializer _init_worker so that _arch_std_events is available under
spawn multiprocessing semantics.
This accelerates the JSON parsing phase by over 10x (from ~3.0s down
to ~290ms), reducing overall jevents.py execution time by 3.5x (from
~3.56s down to ~1.03s).

Clean up and restructure the python setup script to resolve pylint
warnings, improve code quality, and increase robustness and
readability, targeting Python 3.9+ (the Linux kernel build minimum
Python version).
Changes:
- Restructure the script to use a `main()` function as the entry point,
leaving only imports, classes, and pure functions at module level.
- Eliminate all global/module-level variables, making them local to
`main()` or the respective classes/functions.
- Make `clang_has_option` a pure function by passing all necessary
parameters explicitly.
- Extract clang compiler flag filtering into a new
`filter_clang_options` helper function. This function uses a loop
over a tuple of options, replacing ~30 lines of repetitive blocks
and reducing branch/statement complexity in the main flow.
- Cleanly define attributes in `__init__` for `BuildExt` and
`InstallLib` and read environment variables dynamically within the
methods (including `srctree` in `InstallLib.run`), removing their
dependency on global variables.
- Replace legacy Popen with subprocess.run for safer process handling.
- Use quote-aware flag filtering (`shlex.split`, filter, `shlex.join`)
on sysconfig CFLAGS and OPT instead of regex `re.sub` substitutions.
This avoids boundary bugs and safely handles quoted arguments and
options with values.
- Rely on setuptools to handle user CFLAGS from the environment
directly rather than manually prepending them to extra_compile_args.
- Safely parse `CC` env var using `shlex.split` to handle quotes and
pass compiler arguments as `list[str]` lists to helper functions,
avoiding redundant string formatting and parsing.
- Remove unused `import re`.
- Rename setuptools command subclasses to PascalCase (BuildExt,
InstallLib).
- Add type annotations to functions and methods.
- Add missing docstrings for module, functions, and classes.
- Split long lines to adhere to standard limits.

Refactor perf_cap__capable() to completely remove the used_root out-parameter
as requested by the maintainer. Relying on an explicit used_root boolean
poisoned sequential capability checks (e.g. failing CAP_SYS_ADMIN checks
poisoning the flag for subsequent CAP_PERFMON evaluations for unprivileged
users) and created redundant complexity across check_ftrace_capable(),
symbol__read_kptr_restrict(), and perf_event_paranoid_check().
Streamline the capability API to perform a pure true/false boolean
evaluation. The function checks the Effective set using SYS_capget; if
the syscall is missing or fails on legacy kernels, it cleanly falls back
to checking EUID == 0. This perfectly preserves modern capability-aware host
sessions, guarantees transparent fallback for older kernels, and correctly
rejects privileged operations for containerized root processes that have
explicitly dropped their capability bounding and permitted sets.

When a sleeping task's affinity is changed, task_cpu(p) can be outside
of p->cpus_ptr until after select_task_rq() selects a new runqueue for
the task during wakeup.
Thus, the task's NUMA node determined by numa_select_cpu() can be
completely outside of the task's cpumask, leading to

Per-object monitors can allocate memory dynamically and such memory is
required for the lifetime of the object, then it should be freed with
the appropriate call.
Force the generation scripts to add a cleanup function the user will
need to wire to the appropriate event (e.g. sched_process_exit for
tasks). This can be safely removed if the object will never cease to
exist before disabling the monitor (e.g. if following only static

cs_etm__get_trace() returns an int, but it used to return etmq->buf_len
on success. That value comes from auxtrace_buffer::size, which is a
size_t. For a large AUX trace block, returning the byte count through an
int can overflow and make a valid buffer look like a negative error.
The callers do not need the actual byte count from cs_etm__get_trace().
The buffer length is already stored in the etmq->buf_len. The callers
only need to distinguish three states:
< 0: error
= 0: no more AUX buffers
> 0: data is available
Make cs_etm__get_trace() return 0 for all non-error cases and use
etmq->buf_len to indicate whether a new buffer was found. Then make
cs_etm__get_data_block() return 1 whenever data is available, instead of
returning the buffer length.
Also refactor cs_etm__get_data_block() to make its return value
semantics clearer.
