The cpufreq selftests are always executed through main.sh, which verifies
that the test is run as root before dispatching any test case.
Therefore, invoking sudo inside quick_shuffle() is redundant and may cause
failures in environments where sudo is unavailable.

switch_show_governor() assigns the current governor and frequency
to local variables before switching governors.
However, these variables are never referenced afterwards. The function
does not restore the previous governor or use the saved frequency, as
backup_governor() and restore_governor() already handle state preservation
elsewhere.

While the GCC and Clang compilers already define __ASSEMBLER__
automatically when compiling assembly code, __ASSEMBLY__ is a
macro that only gets defined by the Makefiles in the kernel.
This can be very confusing when switching between userspace
and kernelspace coding, or when dealing with uapi headers that
rather should use __ASSEMBLER__ instead. So let's standardize now
on the __ASSEMBLER__ macro that is provided by the compilers.
This is a completely mechanical patch (done with a simple "sed -i"
statement).

The IPIP and IP6IP6 tunnel tests call check_counters() to verify
flowtable offloading occurred, but the flow-add rule only matches
meta oif "veth1". When traffic is routed through a tunnel device,
oif is the tunnel interface (tun0, tun6, etc.), not veth1, so
the flow-add rule never fires, no flowtable entry is created,
and counters stay at zero — producing a silent false pass.
Fix by adding tunnel-specific flow-add rules for each tunnel
interface. These match TCP dport 12345 traffic before the bare
accept rule, set ct mark, add the flow to the flowtable, and
increment routed_orig. The existing routed_repl rule on veth0
already handles the reply direction since decapsulated reply
packets exit through the physical interface.
Also add check_counters() for the IP6IP6 non-VLAN and
IP6IP6-over-VLAN tests which previously used a bare PASS message.

ops.cpu_acquire/release() are deprecated in favor of tracking CPU
preemption from a sched_switch tracepoint, see
commit a3f5d4822253 ("sched_ext: Allow scx_bpf_reenqueue_local() to
be called from anywhere"). Loading scx_pair currently emits a
deprecation warning.
Replace the pair_cpu_acquire/release() callbacks with a
tp_btf/sched_switch program that edge-detects the same transitions the
core used to deliver: a release when a running SCX task loses its CPU
to a higher-priority class, and an acquire when the CPU switches back
to an SCX task or idle while marked preempted.
Tasks are classified by effective priority (p->prio) rather than by
policy: rt_mutex_setprio() boosts a PI beneficiary into the rt/dl
classes while leaving its policy untouched, so a policy test would
both miss the release when a boosted task takes the CPU and fire a
spurious acquire when a boosted task replaces a real rt task.
A switch from idle straight to a higher-priority task is deliberately
not treated as a release. The CPU was not running an SCX task, so
there is nothing to drain, and kicking SCX_KICK_PREEMPT |
SCX_KICK_WAIT on every rt wakeup would make the pair CPU wait out rt
bursts it was never coupled to. The old callbacks behaved the same
way, firing ops.cpu_release() only from switch_class() when an SCX
task was put for a higher class.
The tracepoint runs on every context switch in the system, so the
common no-transition case is filtered before taking the pair-shared
lock. This is safe because a CPU's own preempted_mask bit is only ever
written by this tracepoint running on that CPU.
sched_setscheduler() on a running task changes class in place without
a context switch, so such transitions are only observed at the task's
next switch. The old callbacks had the same blind spot in
switch_class(), and try_dispatch() already bounds the resulting wait.
Verified in virtme-ng with the script below. The scheduler must load
without the deprecation warning, stay enabled through the rt churn and
the idle soak (the watchdog would otherwise abort it with "runnable
task stall"), keep its preemption counter advancing, and unregister
cleanly at the end. A PI rt-mutex churn that repeatedly boosts
SCX tasks into the rt class was exercised separately:
#!/bin/bash
# vng --verbose --cpus 8 -m 4G --user root -- ./verify.sh
# FIFO harness: survives even if all SCHED_NORMAL tasks stall

Teach libarena's BPF atomic primitives to use compiler builtins for
load-acquire and store-release when Clang advertises
__BPF_FEATURE_LOAD_ACQ_STORE_REL. Older compilers continue to use the
existing barrier-based fallback.
Notably, as BPF programs begin running on arm64, it is better to use the
more appropriate variants since we can no longer rely on x86 TSO ordering.
Commit 880442305a39 ("bpf: Introduce load-acquire and store-release instructions")
introduced support, hence kernels from 6.15 onwards are needed when
compiling with compilers supporting these instructions. We have
relatively recent kernel version requirements in libarena anyway, and
have not cut first release, hence declare such a dependency.

intel_pstate_tracer imports Gnuplot and numpy before parsing command-line
options. As a result, even "-h" fails if those optional runtime modules are
not installed.
Move the imports to the paths that need them. This lets the help and
invalid-argument paths describe usage without requiring plotting/data
dependencies.

Add a selftest for the SEG6_IPTUNNEL_TABLE attribute, which selects the FIB
table for the post-encap SID route lookup. This looks up the route for the
first SID, the outer destination of the encapsulated packet.
Two routers provide L3 VPN services over an IPv6 underlay. Each router uses
a separate VRF per tenant, with default blackhole routes (IPv4 and IPv6)
that drop unmatched traffic. Tenant traffic is encapsulated, then
decapsulated with an End.DT46.
The encap routes are installed in the tenant VRF, but the routes that match
the first SIDs live in a separate underlay table (500). The "lookup 500"
attribute points the lookup there rather than to the VRF.
The test covers both the input path, where forwarded host traffic triggers
encapsulation, and the output path, where a router originates traffic from
its own loopback inside a VRF.
With the "lookup" attribute, traffic reaches its destination on both paths.
Without it, on the input path the lookup stays in the VRF and hits the
blackhole, and on the output path it falls through to the main table, which
has no matching route.

BIG TCP for UDP tunnels
This series is a follow-up to "BIG TCP without HBH in IPv6", and it adds
support for BIG TCP IPv4/IPv6 workloads in vxlan and geneve. Now that
IPv6 BIG TCP doesn't require stripping the HBH in all various
combinations in tunneled traffic, adding BIG TCP becomes feasible.
Patch 01 adds accessors for the length field in the UDP header, as
suggested by Paolo in review. The usage of udp_set_len is then added in
the following patches that start using length=0 in BIG TCP UDP packets.
Patches 02-04 close the gaps that prevent BIG TCP packets from going
through UDP tunnel code.
Patch 05 validates packets in udp_gro_receive to exclude packets with
length=0 from GRO aggregation.
Patch 06 is for proper formatting in tcpdump (set UDP len to 0 rather
than a trimmed value on overflow).
Patches 07-08 bump up tso_max_size for VXLAN and GENEVE.
Patch 09 adds selftests.

The test sets up VXLAN and GENEVE tunnels over IPv4 and IPv6 and runs
IPv4 and IPv6 traffic through them with BIG TCP enabled. It checks that
a non-negligible amount of big aggregated packets are seen by setting up
iptables counters.
Check the number of packets on both TX and RX sides to verify that GSO
packets are valid and not dropped. Capture on the lower netdev (veth),
when checksum offload is on, to verify that encapsulated BIG TCP packets
can get to their destination. In the test with TX checksum offload off,
software GSO splits aggregated VXLAN packets before passing them to
veth, so capture inside the tunnel instead to check that the big packets
are not dropped.
Check that the amount of SACKs is negligible. On unsupported kernels,
some amount of broken GSO packets bigger than 65536 bytes can be
produced in VXLAN tunnels, but they don't reach the destination. Seeing
TCP SACKs is a sign that such packets could have been dropped (in such
cases, the amount of SACKs is a few times bigger than the number of
attempts to send BIG TCP packets).

They are required to run the selftests:
- Tests are executed in v4 and v6.
- Virtual Ethernet are used between the different netns.
This has not been seen on NIPA before, because the 'ovpn' tests are
executed with the 'tcp_ao' ones, merging their config files. These two
kernel config are present in tools/testing/selftests/net/tcp_ao/config.
This issue is visible when only the ovpn config is used on top of the
default one. This is the recommended way to execute selftest targets.

The kselftests doc mentions that a config file should be present "if a
test needs specific kernel config options enabled". This selftest
requires some kernel config, but no config file was provided.
We could say that a sub-target could use the parent's config file, but
the kselftests doc doesn't mention anything about that. Plus the
net/openvswitch target is the only net target without a config file.
Here is a new config file, which is a trimmed version of the net one,
with hopefully the minimal required kconfig on top of 'make defconfig'.
The Fixes tag points to the introduction of the net/openvswitch target,
just to help validating this target on stable kernels.

Add a test that reproduces the stale ACL bug fixed by:
"fs: preserve ACL_DONT_CACHE state in forget_cached_acl()"
A FUSE mount that does not negotiate FUSE_POSIX_ACL initialises inodes
with i_acl = ACL_DONT_CACHE. Before the fix, calling
forget_all_cached_acls() (e.g. from fuse_update_get_attr() on a
statx(AT_STATX_FORCE_SYNC)) would silently replace ACL_DONT_CACHE with
ACL_NOT_CACHED, enabling the kernel ACL cache. A subsequent getxattr
would populate the cache, and because fuse_set_acl() skips
forget_all_cached_acls() for !fc->posix_acl, later ACL changes were
not visible to callers — getxattr returned stale data.
The test mounts a minimal libfuse3 lowlevel filesystem (no
FUSE_POSIX_ACL negotiated) and:
1. Issues two getxattrs — both must reach the daemon, proving
ACL_DONT_CACHE suppresses caching before any trigger.
2. Calls statx(AT_STATX_FORCE_SYNC) to trigger forget_all_cached_acls().
3. Issues another getxattr (populates the cache on a buggy kernel).
4. Switches the daemon to a different-sized ACL (ACL_B).
5. Issues a final getxattr — expects ACL_B (44 bytes) and daemon
call count 4; a buggy kernel returns stale ACL_A (28 bytes).
fuse_acl_cache_test is only built when libfuse3 is detected via
pkg-config.

Register OVS_KEY_ATTR_ICMPV6 in the flow key parser so that
icmpv6(type=...) can be used in flow specifications. Without this
registration the parser silently drops the token and the kernel
rejects the flow with EINVAL because the expected ICMPv6 key
attribute is missing.
While here, add convert_int() to the ovs_key_ipv6 and ovs_key_icmp
fields_map entries so that specifying a field value produces the
correct wildcard mask. The IPv6 flow label uses convert_int(20) to
produce a 20-bit mask (0x000FFFFF), matching the kernel constraint in
flow_netlink.c that rejects masks with bits 20-31 set; byte-wide
fields use convert_int(8). The ipv4 counterpart already does this via
convert_int(); the ipv6 and icmp classes were simply missing the fifth
tuple element. Existing callers that pass empty parentheses are
unaffected because convert_int("") returns (0, 0).
Add test_icmpv6 exercising the ICMPv6 echo flow key. The test uses
static neighbour entries with nud permanent to prevent racy NDP, then
verifies in three steps: install icmpv6(type=128) and
icmpv6(type=129) flows and confirm ping works, remove the flows and
confirm ping fails, reinstall and confirm recovery.

progs/lsm_bdev.c keys its verity_devices hashmap with the raw kernel dev_t
read straight off bdev->bd_dev, i.e. MKDEV(major, minor) = (major << 20) |
minor. prog_tests/lsm_bdev.c instead builds its lookup key with dev_key =
(__u32)st.st_rdev from stat(2), but the stat(2) syscall fills st_rdev via
the kernel's new_encode_dev(), a different bit layout: (minor & 0xff) |
(major << 8) | ((minor & ~0xff) << 12).
For any device with a non-trivial major these two values differ, so the
lookup can never find what the BPF program stored, and test_lsm_bdev()
always fails with:
test_lsm_bdev:FAIL:map lookup unexpected error: -2 (errno 2)
Reconstruct the raw kernel dev_t from the decoded major/minor instead of
casting st_rdev directly, restoring the layout the BPF program actually
reads.

A bug was reported when rtla-timerlat-top tool performs on-threshold
actions, even though no threshold was hit. This is reproduced even if no
threshold is set at all:
$ rtla timerlat top -q -c 0 --on-threshold shell,command='echo BAD'
BAD
Timer Latency
...
The bug is due to incorrect logic in timerlat_top_bpf_main_loop().
The loop uses timerlat_bpf_wait(), the return values of which are:
- > 0 (number of ringbuffer entries): at least 1 CPU hit threshold
- = 0: time out
- < 0: wait was interrupted by a signal
Commit 3138df6f0cd0 ("rtla/timerlat: Exit top main loop on any non-zero
wait_retval") changed the condition for "threshold hit" from
"wait_reval == 1" (exactly 1 CPU hit threshold) to "wait_retval != 0",
to fix a race where multiple CPUs hit the threshold at the same time.
That also made it incorrectly include a signal (< 0), coming from either
duration expired (SIGALRM) or user interrupt (SIGINT).
Check for wait_retval greater than zero in the if condition to cover all
return values correctly.

The test asserted that the X86_FEATURE_SEV CPUID bit exactly matches
whether KVM offers KVM_X86_SEV_VM. That is not an invariant: when all
SEV ASIDs are assigned to SEV-SNP, KVM does not offer the SEV VM type
even though CPUID reports SEV, so the test aborts on an SNP-only host.
Derive SEV availability from KVM_CAP_VM_TYPES (as already done for SEV-ES
and SNP), assert only the one-way implication that a type offered by KVM
is also reported in CPUID, and TEST_REQUIRE() the SEV VM type so the test
skips cleanly when it is unavailable.

sev_smoke_test ran the plain SEV subtest unconditionally, gated only on
the X86_FEATURE_SEV CPUID bit, while gating SEV-ES and SNP on the
KVM_CAP_VM_TYPES bits. CPUID reporting SEV does not mean KVM offers the
SEV VM type: when all SEV ASIDs are assigned to SEV-SNP, KVM_X86_SEV_VM
is unavailable even though X86_FEATURE_SEV is set. On such a host the
test aborts in KVM_CREATE_VM instead of exercising the available modes.
Gate the SEV subtest on KVM_CAP_VM_TYPES like the others, so the test
runs the VM types the host actually offers.

Add a selftest to verify that FOU-encapsulated packets addressed to a
multicast destination are correctly resubmitted to the inner protocol
handler (GRE) via the UDP multicast delivery path. Both IPv4 and IPv6
paths are tested.
The test creates two network namespaces connected by a veth pair with
a FOU/GRETAP (IPv4) and FOU/ip6gretap (IPv6) tunnel using multicast
remote addresses (239.0.0.1 and ff0e::1). Ping is sent through each
tunnel and received packets are counted on the receiver's tunnel
interface.
The veth pair is created directly inside the namespaces to avoid
possible name collisions with devices in the root namespace.
Static neighbor entries are configured on the sender because ARP/ND
replies from the receiver cannot traverse the unidirectional multicast
tunnel back to the sender.
The early demux optimization (net.ipv4.ip_early_demux, which controls
both IPv4 and IPv6) is disabled on the receiver to force packets
through __udp4_lib_mcast_deliver() / __udp6_lib_mcast_deliver(), which
is the code path being tested.
