crypto driver itself is not dma-coherent. It is the dmaengine that moves data and the buffers are to be mapped to the dmaengine provider. So this property should be dropped. 2022-08-25dt-bindings: Remove 'Device Tree Bindings' from end of title:Andrew Lunn5-5/+5
As indicated in link: https://lore.kernel.org/all/20220822204945.GA808626-robh@kernel.org/ DT schema files should not have 'Device Tree Binding' as part of there title: line. 2022-02-04dt-bindings: Improve phandle-array schemasRob Herring1-3/+12
The 'phandle-array' type is a bit ambiguous. It can be either just an array of phandles or an array of phandles plus args. Many schemas for phandle-array properties aren't clear in the schema which case applies though the description usually describes it. The array of phandles case boils down to needing: items: maxItems: 1 The phandle plus args cases should typically take this form: items: - items: - description: A phandle - description: 1st arg cell - description: 2nd arg cell With this change, some examples need updating so that the bracketing of property values matches the schema. 2021-06-21dt-bindings: Drop redundant minItems/maxItemsRob Herring2-3/+0
If a property has an 'items' list, then a 'minItems' or 'maxItems' with the same size as the list is redundant and can be dropped. Note that is DT schema specific behavior and not standard json-schema behavior. The tooling will fixup the final schema adding any unspecified minItems/maxItems. This condition is partially checked with the meta-schema already, but only if both 'minItems' and 'maxItems' are equal to the 'items' length. An improved meta-schema is pending. Properties in if/then schemas weren't getting checked by the meta-schemas. Enabling meta-schema checks finds several errors. The use of an 'items' schema (as opposed to the list form) is wrong in some cases as it applies to all entries. 'contains' is the correct schema to use in the case of multiple entries. The examples template is a 'simple-bus' with a size of 1 cell for had between 2 and 4 cells which really only errors on I2C or SPI type devices with a single cell. The easiest fix in most cases is to change the 'reg' property to for 1 cell address and size. In some cases with child devices having 2 cells, that doesn't make sense so a bus node is needed. 2020-05-03dt-bindings: Remove cases of 'allOf' containing a '$ref'Rob Herring1-5/+4
json-schema versions draft7 and earlier have a weird behavior in that any keywords combined with a '$ref' are ignored (silently). The correct form was to put a '$ref' under an 'allOf'. This behavior is now changed in the 2019-09 json-schema spec and '$ref' can be mixed with other keywords. The json-schema library doesn't yet support this, but the tooling now does a fixup for this and either way works. This has been a constant source of review comments, so let's change this treewide so everyone copies the simpler syntax. Scripted with ruamel.yaml with some manual fixups.
