2022-05-18ARM: dts: imx6qdl-sr-som: update phy configuration for som revision 1.9Josua Mayer1-0/+10
Since SoM revision 1.9 the PHY has been replaced with an ADIN1300, add an entry for it next to the original. As Russell King pointed out, additional phy nodes cause warnings like: mdio_bus 2188000.ethernet-1: MDIO device at address 1 is missing To avoid this the new node has its status set to disabled. U-Boot will be modified to enable the appropriate phy node after probing. The existing ar8035 nodes have to stay enabled by default to avoid breaking existing systems when they update Linux only. 2021-07-14ARM: dts: imx6qdl-sr-som: Increase the PHY reset duration to 10msMaxime Chevallier1-1/+7
The AR803x PHY used on this modules seems to require the reset line to be asserted for around 10ms in order to avoid rare cases where the PHY gets stuck in an incoherent state that prevents it to function correctly. The previous value of 2ms was found to be problematic on some setups, causing intermittent issues where the PHY would be unresponsive every once in a while on some sytems, with a low occurrence (it typically took around 30 consecutive reboots to encounter the issue). Bumping the delay to the 10ms makes the issue dissapear, with more than 2500 consecutive reboots performed without the issue showing-up. 2021-01-29ARM: dts: imx6-sr-som: increase at8035 PHY gigabit Tw parameterRussell King1-0/+2
Increase the SmartEEE Tw parameter for Atheros PHYs to stop gigabit links from sporadically dropping. Jon Nettleton found that a value of 23 was the minimum to give a stable link, but testing with the Com Express 7 module shows 24 is the minimum - so 23 may still be on the margins. Use 24 instead for consistency across SolidRun platforms. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@armlinux.org.uk> Signed-off-by: Shawn Guo <shawnguo@kernel.org>
2021-01-18ARM: dts: imx6qdl-sr-som: fix some cubox-i platformsRussell King1-2/+10
The PHY address bit 2 is configured by the LED pin. Attaching a LED to this pin is not sufficient to guarantee this configuration pin is correctly read. This leads to some platforms having their PHY at address 0 and others at address 4. If there is no phy-handle specified, the FEC driver will scan the PHY bus for a PHY and use that. Consequently, adding the DT configuration of the PHY and the phy properties to the FEC driver broke some boards. Fix this by removing the phy-handle property, and listing two PHY entries for both possible PHY addresses, so that the DT configuration for the PHY can be found by the PHY driver. 2020-04-29ARM: dts: imx6-sr-som: add ethernet PHY configurationRussell King1-0/+11
Add ethernet PHY configuration ahead of removing the quirk that configures the clocking mode for the PHY. The RGMII delay is already set correctly. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@armlinux.org.uk> Reviewed-by: Fabio Estevam <festevam@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Shawn Guo <shawnguo@kernel.org>
2019-04-11ARM: dts: imx: Fix the AR803X phy-modeFabio Estevam1-1/+1
Commit 6d4cd041f0af ("net: phy: at803x: disable delay only for RGMII mode") exposed an issue on imx DTS files using AR8031/AR8035 PHYs. The end result is that the boards can no longer obtain an IP address via UDHCP, for example. Quoting Andrew Lunn: "The problem here is, all the DTs were broken since day 0. However, because the PHY driver was also broken, nobody noticed and it worked. Now that the PHY driver has been fixed, all the bugs in the DTs now become an issue" To fix this problem, the phy-mode property needs to be "rgmii-id", which has the following meaning as per Documentation/devicetree/bindings/net/ethernet.txt: "RGMII with internal RX and TX delays provided by the PHY, the MAC should not add the RX or TX delays in this case)" Tested on imx6-sabresd, imx6sx-sdb and imx7d-pico boards with successfully restored networking. Based on the initial submission from Steve Twiss for the imx6qdl-sabresd. 2017-12-26ARM: dts: imx6qdl-sr-som: split out Broadcom Wi-Fi supportRussell King1-99/+0
There are two variants of the imx6qdl som: one with Broadcom Wi-Fi and another with Texas Instruments Wi-Fi. The two Wi-Fi devices require different DT bindings, so it's necessary to split out the Broadcom specifics.
