2021-01-13power: supply: wm97xx_battery: Convert to GPIO descriptorLinus Walleij1-1/+0
This converts the WM97xx driver to use a GPIO descriptor instead of passing a GPIO number thru platform data. Like everything else in the driver, use a simple local variable for the descriptor, it can only ever appear in one instance anyway so it should not hurt. After converting the driver I noticed that none of the boardfiles actually define a meaningful GPIO line for this, but hey, it is converted. 2020-03-18backlight: pwm_bl: Switch to full GPIO descriptorLinus Walleij1-1/+0
The PWM backlight still supports passing a enable GPIO line as platform data using the legacy <linux/gpio.h> API. It turns out that ever board using this mechanism except one is pass .enable_gpio = -1. So we drop all these cargo-culted -1's from all instances of this platform data in the kernel. The remaning board, Palm TC, is converted to pass a machine descriptior table with the "enable" GPIO instead, and delete the platform data entry for enable_gpio and the code handling it and things should work smoothly with the new API. 2020-01-23usb: phy: phy-gpio-vbus-usb: Convert to GPIO descriptorsLinus Walleij1-6/+9
Instead of using the legacy GPIO API and keeping track on polarity inversion semantics in the driver, switch to use GPIO descriptors for this driver and change all consumers in the process. This makes it possible to retire platform data completely: the only remaining platform data member was "wakeup" which was intended to make the vbus interrupt wakeup capable, but was not set by any users and thus remained unused. VBUS was not waking any devices up. Leave a comment about it so later developers using the platform can consider setting it to always enabled so plugging in USB wakes up the platform. 2018-12-17mmc: pxa: Use GPIO descriptor for powerLinus Walleij1-1/+3
After converting the PXA driver to use GPIO descriptors for card detect and write protect it is relatively simple to convert it to also use a descriptor for getting the optional power control GPIO. The polarity inversion flag can also go away from the platform data since this is indicated in the GPIO machine descriptor table. This adds GPIO descriptor look-up tables for a whole bunch of PXA boards with MMC card detect (CD) and write protect (WP) GPIO lines, so we can move away from the hard-coded GPIO numberspace. In some cases the platforms were compulsively including the <linux/gpio.h> header even if they weren't actually using it, and in these cases I simply replaced that inclusion with the more appropriate <linux/gpio/machine.h> which is what board files should be including most of the time. 2016-01-20Merge tag 'armsoc-multiplatform' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-socLinus Torvalds1-5/+5
Pull ARM SoC multiplatform code updates from Arnd Bergmann: "This branch is the culmination of 5 years of effort to bring the ARMv6 and ARMv7 platforms together such that they can all be enabled and boot the same kernel. It has been a tremendous amount of cleanup and refactoring by a huge number of people, and creation of several new (and major) subsystems to better abstract out all the platform details in an appropriate manner. The bulk of this branch is a large patchset from Arnd that brings several of the more minor and older platforms we have closer to multiplatform support. Among these are MMP, S3C64xx, Orion5x, mv78xx0 and realview Much of this is moving around header files from old mach directories, but there are also some cleanup patches of debug_ll (lowlevel debug per-platform options) and other parts. Linus Walleij also has some patchs to clean up the older ARM Realview platforms by finally introducing DT support, and Rob Herring has some for ARM Versatile which is now DT-only. Both of these platforms are now multiplatform. Finally, a couple of patches from Russell for Dove PMU, and a fix from Valentin Rothberg for Exynos ADC, which were rebased on top of the series to avoid conflicts" * tag 'armsoc-multiplatform' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc: (75 commits) ARM: realview: don't select SMP_ON_UP for UP builds ARM: s3c: simplify s3c_irqwake_{e,}intallow definition ARM: s3c64xx: fix pm-debug compilation iio: exynos-adc: fix irqf_oneshot.cocci warnings ARM: realview: build realview-dt SMP support only when used ARM: realview: select apropriate targets ARM: realview: clean up header files ARM: realview: make all header files local ARM: no longer make CPU targets visible separately ARM: integrator: use explicit core module options ARM: realview: enable multiplatform ARM: make default platform work for NOMMU ARM: debug-ll: move DEBUG_LL_UART_EFM32 to correct Kconfig location ARM: defconfig: use correct debug_ll settings ARM: versatile: convert to multi-platform ARM: versatile: merge mach code into a single file ARM: versatile: switch to DT only booting and remove legacy code ARM: versatile: add DT based PCI detection ARM: pxa: mark ezx structures as __maybe_unused ARM: pxa: mark raumfeld init functions as __maybe_unused ...

2014-02-11ARM: pxa: Add dummy backlight power supply on Mitac Mio A701Thierry Reding1-0/+9
Recent changes to the pwm-backlight driver have made the power supply mandatory. There is code in the regulator core to deal with situations where no regulator is specified and provide a dummy, but that works on DT-based boards only. The situation can be remedied by adding a dummy regulator during board initialization. The GPIO API defines 0 as being a valid GPIO number, so this field needs to be initialized explicitly. A special case is the Palm Tungsten|C board. Since it doesn't use any quirks that would require the existing .init() or .exit() hooks it can simply use the new enable_gpio field. Signed-off-by: Thierry Reding <treding@nvidia.com>

2012-12-24ARM: delete struct sys_timerStephen Warren1-1/+1
Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct, and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization function itself. This will enable moving timer drivers into drivers/clocksource without having to place a public prototype of each struct sys_timer object into include/linux; the intent is to create a single of_clocksource_init() function that determines which timer driver to initialize by scanning the device dtree, much like the proposed irqchip_init() at: http://www.spinics.net/lists/arm-kernel/msg203686.html Includes mach-omap2 fixes from Igor Grinberg. 2011-07-11ARM: pxa/mioa701: use gpio arrays for global and gsm gpiosPhilipp Zabel1-55/+15
gpio_request_array() / gpio_free_array() are functional replacements for mio_gpio_request() / mio_gpio_free(), which are now obsolete. Signed-off-by: Philipp Zabel <philipp.zabel@gmail.com> Acked-by: Robert Jarzmik <robert.jarzmik@free.fr> Signed-off-by: Eric Miao <eric.y.miao@gmail.com>
2011-04-24ARM / PXA: Use struct syscore_ops for "core" power managementRafael J. Wysocki1-35/+8
Replace sysdev classes and struct sys_device objects used for "core" power management by the PXA platform code with struct syscore_ops objects that are simpler. This reduces the code size and the kernel memory footprint. It also is necessary for removing sysdevs entirely from the kernel in the future. Signed-off-by: Rafael J. 2011-03-21ARM: pxa2xx: reorganize I2C filesSebastian Andrzej Siewior1-1/+1
This patch moves the platform data definition from arch/arm/plat-pxa/include/plat/i2c.h to include/linux/i2c/pxa-i2c.h so it can be accessed from x86 the same way as on ARM. This change should make no functional change to the PXA code. The move is verified by building the following defconfigs: cm_x2xx_defconfig corgi_defconfig em_x270_defconfig ezx_defconfig imote2_defconfig pxa3xx_defconfig spitz_defconfig zeus_defconfig raumfeld_defconfig magician_defconfig mmp2_defconfig pxa168_defconfig pxa910_defconfig Signed-off-by: Sebastian Andrzej Siewior <bigeasy@linutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Dirk Brandewie <dirk.brandewie@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Ben Dooks <ben-linux@fluff.org>
2011-03-16ARM: pxa: clean up set_pxa_fb_infoRussell King - ARM Linux1-1/+1
set_pxa_fb_info() has been a long-standing wart in the naming scheme of the pxa_set_xxx_info() functions. This renames the function, and combines set_pxa_fb_parent() with set_pxa_fb_info(). 2010-12-16ARM: pxa: Introduce pxa{25x,27x,3xx}_map_io()Marek Vasut1-1/+1
This patch introduces pxa2xx_map_io() and pxa3xx_map_io() to distinguish between PXA25x/PXA27x and PXA3xx memory mapping. Also, fixup for platforms broken after introducing pxa{25x,27x}_map_io() and pxa3xx_map_io() is included. 2010-10-22[media] soc_camera: Don't use module names to load I2C modulesLaurent Pinchart1-1/+0
With the v4l2_i2c_new_subdev* functions now supporting loading modules based on modaliases, remove the module names hardcoded in platform data and pass a NULL module name to those functions. All corresponding I2C modules have been checked, and all of them include a module aliases table with names corresponding to what the soc_camera platform data uses. 2010-10-20arm: remove machine_desc.io_pg_offst and .phys_ioNicolas Pitre1-2/+0
Since we're now using addruart to establish the debug mapping, we can remove the io_pg_offst and phys_io members of struct machine_desc. The various declarations were removed using the following script: grep -rl MACHINE_START arch/arm | xargs \ sed -i '/MACHINE_START/,/MACHINE_END/ { /\.\(phys_io\|io_pg_offst\)/d }' [ Initial patch was from Jeremy Kerr, example script from Russell King ] Signed-off-by: Nicolas Pitre <nicolas.pitre@linaro.org> Acked-by: Eric Miao <eric.miao at canonical.com>
