2016-08-15ARM: realview: delete the RealView board filesLinus Walleij1-492/+0

2015-12-15ARM: realview: remove private barrier implementationArnd Bergmann1-0/+7
The realview barrier implementation tries to avoid calling outer_sync in order to not lock up as a result of a bug in the l220 cache controller. This gets in the way of the multiplatform support, but we can still remove it if we make sure that the outer_sync function never gets called, by replacing the function pointer with NULL, right after initialization. 2015-02-28net: smc91x: use run-time configuration on all ARM machinesArnd Bergmann1-1/+1
The smc91x driver traditionally gets configured at compile-time for whichever hardware it runs on. This no longer works on ARM as we continue to move to building all-in-one kernels. Most ARM configurations with this driver already use run-time configuration through DT or through platform_data, but a few have not been converted yet. I've checked all ARM boards that use this driver in their legacy board files, and converted the ones that were using compile-time configuration in smc91x.h to behave like the other ones and provide the interrupt polarity along with the MMIO configuration (width, stride) at platform device creation time. In particular, these combinations were previously selectable in Kconfig but in fact broken: - sa1100 assabet plus pleb - msm combined with any other armv6/v7 platform - pxa-idp combined with any non-DMA pxa variant - LogicPD PXA270 combined with any other pxa - nomadik combined with any other armv4/v5 platform, e.g. versatile. None of these seem critical enough to warrant a backport to stable, but it would be nice to clean this up for good. 2015-02-06arm: realview: specify PMU typesMark Rutland1-1/+2
Now that we can specify which PMU variant we're likely to deal with, do so in the realview board code. This will allow us to split the ARMv6, ARMv7, and XScale PMU drivers. The Realview EB may be used with ARMv6 or ARMv7 CPUs, but luckily there's only a single ARMv7 CPU, so we can match that explicitly to determine whether or not we have an ARMv7 PMU. 2014-02-27ARM: plat-versatile: convert LEDs to platform deviceLinus Walleij1-0/+1
The LEDs were initialized unconditionally with an fs_initcall() which doesn't play well with multiplatform. Convert the driver to a platform device and convert all boards with these LEDs to register a platform device and pass the register as a resource instead. Tested successfully on the Versatile/AB and RealView PB1176. Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct, and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization function itself. 2012-08-24clk: convert ARM RealView to common clkLinus Walleij1-0/+2
This converts the ARM RealView machine over to using the common clock. The approach is similar to the one used for the Integrator, and we're reusing the ICST wrapper code. We have to put the clock intialization in the timer init function for the clocks to be available when initializing the timer, keeping them in early_init() is too early for the common clk. Since we now have to go down and compile drivers/clk/versatile a CONFIG_COMMON_CLK_VERSATILE symbol has been added so the proper code gets compiled into the kernel for either machine. A leftover CLK_VERSATILE in the Integrator Kconfig was fixed up to use the new symbol as well. Tested on ARM RealView PB1176. 2012-08-23ARM: pmu: remove arm_pmu_type enumerationSudeep KarkadaNagesha1-2/+1
The arm_pmu_type enumeration was initially introduced to identify different PMU types in the system, the usual one being that on the CPU (ARM_PMU_DEVICE_CPU). With the removal of the PMU reservation code and the introduction of devicetree bindings for the CPU PMU, the enumeration is no longer required. This patch removes the enumeration and updates the various CPU PMU platform devices so that they no longer pass an .id field referring to identify the PMU type. 2012-08-01ARM: mach-realview and mach-versatile: retire custom LED codeBryan Wu1-5/+0
This replaces the custom LED trigger code in mach-realview with some overarching platform code for the plat-versatile family that will lock down LEDs 2 thru 5 for CPU activity indication. The day we have 8 core ARM systems the plat-versatile code will have to become more elaborate. Tested on RealView PB11MPCore by invoking four different CPU hogs (yes > /dev/null&) and see the LEDs go on one at a time. They all go off as the hogs are killed. Tested on the PB1176 as well - just one activity led (led 2) goes on and off with CPU activity. 2012-01-25ARM: 7298/1: realview: fix mapping of MPCore private memory regionMarc Zyngier1-8/+3
Since commit 0536bdf33faf (ARM: move iotable mappings within the vmalloc region), the RealView PB11MP cannot boot anymore. This is caused by the way the mappings are described on this platform (define replaced by hex values for clarity): { /* GIC CPU interface mapping */ .virtual = IO_ADDRESS(0x1F000100), .pfn = __phys_to_pfn(0x1F000100), .length = SZ_4K, .type = MT_DEVICE, }, { /* GIC distributor mapping */ .virtual = IO_ADDRESS(0x1F001000), .pfn = __phys_to_pfn(0x1F001000), .length = SZ_4K, .type = MT_DEVICE, } The first mapping ends up reserving two pages, and clashes with the second one, which triggers a BUG_ON in vm_area_add_early(). In order to solve this problem, treat the MPCore private memory region (containing the SCU, the GIC and the TWD) as a single region, as described in the TRM: http://infocenter.arm.com/help/index.jsp?topic=/com.arm.doc.ddi0360f/CACGDJJC.html The EB11MP is converted the same way, even if it manages to avoid the problem.
