2020-08-20ARM: s3c: move into a common directoryArnd Bergmann1-230/+0
s3c24xx and s3c64xx have a lot in common, but are split across three separate directories, which makes the interaction of the header files more complicated than necessary. Move all three directories into a new mach-s3c, with a minimal set of changes to each file. 2020-08-19ARM: s3c64xx: switch to generic watchdog driver resetKrzysztof Kozlowski1-1/+0
Similarly to commit f6361c6b3880 ("ARM: S3C24XX: remove separate restart code"), the platform watchdog reset code can be removed in favor of a generic watchdog driver which already handles reset. This allows removal of a bunch of machine code and fixes also W=1 compile warnings: arch/arm/plat-samsung/watchdog-reset.c:29:6: warning: no previous prototype for 'samsung_wdt_reset' [-Wmissing-prototypes] arch/arm/plat-samsung/watchdog-reset.c:69:13: warning: no previous prototype for 'samsung_wdt_reset_of_init' [-Wmissing-prototypes] arch/arm/plat-samsung/watchdog-reset.c:89:13: warning: no previous prototype for 'samsung_wdt_reset_init' [-Wmissing-prototypes] The generic watchdog-based system reset is not exactly the same as before. The previous method had a fallback to soft_restart() which now is gone. The commit also removes a FIXME note about calling s3c64xx_clk_init() inside s3c64xx_init_irq(). No one fixed this since long time and the note is not meaningful anymore because watchdog part is removed. Remove the arch/arm/plat-samsung/include/plat/samsung-time.h header and move the contents to common.h headers in mach-s3c24xx and mach-s3c64xx. The definition of declared functions is already in common.c in mach directories, so it is logically to put declaration next to them. 2015-12-01ARM: s3c64xx: enable sparse IRQ supportArnd Bergmann1-1/+2
This is another prerequisite for enabling multiplatform support, and it is the part I am least certain about. I assume it will cause the extra boot message "Cannot allocate irq_descs @ IRQ%d, assuming pre-allocated" to be printed, but otherwise work ok. When refactoring and breaking out the includes for the machine-specific GPIO configuration, two files were created in <linux/platform_data/gpio-samsung-s3c[24|64]xx.h>, but as that namespace shall be used for defining data exchanged between machines and drivers, using it for these broad macros and config settings is wrong. Move the headers back into the machine-local <mach/gpio-samsung.h> file and think about the next step. 2013-12-20ARM: s3c64xx: get rid of custom <mach/gpio.h>Linus Walleij1-0/+1
This isolates the custom S3C64xx GPIO definition table to <linux/platform_data/gpio-samsung-s3x64xx.h> as this is used in a few different places in the kernel, removing the need to depend on the implicit inclusion of <mach/gpio.h> from <linux/gpio.h> and thus getting rid of a few nasty cross-dependencies. Also delete the CONFIG_SAMSUNG_GPIO_EXTRA stuff. Instead roof the number of GPIOs for this platform: First sum up all the GPIO banks from A to Q: 187 GPIOs. Add the 16 "board GPIOs" and the roof for SAMSUNG_GPIO_EXTRA, 128, so in total maximum 187+16+128 = 331 GPIOs, so let's take the same roof as for S3C24XX: 512. This way we can do away with the GPIO calculation macros for GPIO_BOARD_START, BOARD_NR_GPIOS and the definition of ARCH_NR_GPIOS. 2012-12-24ARM: delete struct sys_timerStephen Warren1-1/+1
Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct, and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization function itself. This will enable moving timer drivers into drivers/clocksource without having to place a public prototype of each struct sys_timer object into include/linux; the intent is to create a single of_clocksource_init() function that determines which timer driver to initialize by scanning the device dtree, much like the proposed irqchip_init() at: http://www.spinics.net/lists/arm-kernel/msg203686.html Includes mach-omap2 fixes from Igor Grinberg. As per discussions with Russell King on linux-arm-kernel, it appears that both mach-s3c6400 and mach-s3c6410 are so close together that they should simply be merged into mach-s3c64xx. Note, this patch does not eliminate any of the bits that are still common, it is simply a move of the two directories together, any further common code will be eliminated or moved in further patches.
