2013-04-08ARM: ux500: move to multiplatformArnd Bergmann2-64/+0
Nothing is holding us up any more, and we can make ux500 coexist with the rest of the platforms. The timex.h and uncompress.h headers are no longer needed now. Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
2013-04-08ARM: ux500: make remaining headers localArnd Bergmann2-73/+0
mach/setup.h and mach/devices.h are only needed from inside of mach-ux500 now, so we can simply move them out of the include/mach directory. Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
2013-04-08ARM: ux500: make irqs.h local to platformArnd Bergmann3-229/+0
With the PRCMU out of the way, nothing outside of mach-ux500 uses mach/irqs.h any more, so we can make it a local header file, including the two sub-headers. Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
2013-04-08ARM: ux500: get rid of <mach/[hardware|db8500-regs].h>Linus Walleij4-221/+2
This removes <mach/hardware.h> and <mach/db8500-regs.h> from the Ux500, merging them into the local include "db8500-regs.h" in mach-ux500. There is some impact outside the ux500 machine, but most of it is dealt with in earlier patches. Contains portions of a clean-up patch from Arnd Bergmann. 2013-04-08ARM: ux500: move mach/msp.h to <linux/platform_data/*>Arnd Bergmann1-27/+0
This header file only contains platform data structure definitions, so it's straightforward to move. Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> [Delete one include rather than move it] Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
2013-04-08ARM: ux500: move debugmacro to debug includesLinus Walleij1-39/+0
This moves the Ux500 debug macro to the debug headers to make way for multiplatform support. Acked-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
2013-04-08ARM: ux500: split out prcmu initializationArnd Bergmann1-25/+0
This untangles the final bits of the prcmu code from the platform code: * The IRQ_PRCMU_* definitions move from irqs-db8500.h into prcmu.c because they are only of local significance. * u8500_thsens_device goes into the prcmu, because it uses a PRCMU IRQ that the platform does not see. * IRQ_DB8500_AB8500 and IRQ_PRCMU_BASE go into the platform data because the PRCMU does not see it. Acked-by: Samuel Ortiz <sameo@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> [Fixed a oneliner bug] Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
2013-04-08mfd: db8500-prcmu: get base address from resourceLinus Walleij1-2/+0
We cannot use a global variable stored in <mach/hardware.h> to find the base address of the PRCMU. The real resource is already there from the board, so use this to look up the base address instead. Currently the patch is kept minimal so as not to interfere with other work being done on refactoring this driver, but at a later point the defines using (prcmu_base + 0xnnn) need to be replaced by pure offset defined for (0xnnn) and the base inlined with the readl()/writel() and similar codepaths. 2013-02-21Merge tag 'cleanup' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-socLinus Torvalds4-130/+1
Pull ARM SoC cleanups from Arnd Bergmann: "A large number of cleanups, all over the platforms. This is dominated largely by the Samsung platforms (s3c, s5p, exynos) and a few of the others moving code out of arch/arm into more appropriate subsystems. The clocksource and irqchip drivers are now abstracted to the point where platforms that are already cleaned up do not need to even specify the driver they use, it can all get configured from the device tree as we do for normal device drivers. The clocksource changes basically touch every single platform in the process. We further clean up the use of platform specific header files here, with the goal of turning more of the platforms over to being "multiplatform" enabled, which implies that they cannot expose their headers to architecture independent code any more. It is expected that no functional changes are part of the cleanup. The overall reduction in total code lines is mostly the result of removing broken and obsolete code." * tag 'cleanup' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc: (133 commits) ARM: mvebu: correct gated clock documentation ARM: kirkwood: add missing include for nsa310 ARM: exynos: move exynos4210-combiner to drivers/irqchip mfd: db8500-prcmu: update resource passing drivers/db8500-cpufreq: delete dangling include ARM: at91: remove NEOCORE 926 board sunxi: Cleanup the reset code and add meaningful registers defines ARM: S3C24XX: header mach/regs-mem.h local ARM: S3C24XX: header mach/regs-power.h local ARM: S3C24XX: header mach/regs-s3c2412-mem.h local ARM: S3C24XX: Remove plat-s3c24xx directory in arch/arm/ ARM: S3C24XX: transform s3c2443 subirqs into new structure ARM: S3C24XX: modify s3c2443 irq init to initialize all irqs ARM: S3C24XX: move s3c2443 irq code to irq.c ARM: S3C24XX: transform s3c2416 irqs into new structure ARM: S3C24XX: modify s3c2416 irq init to initialize all irqs ARM: S3C24XX: move s3c2416 irq init to common irq code ARM: S3C24XX: Modify s3c_irq_wake to use the hwirq property ARM: S3C24XX: Move irq syscore-ops to irq-pm clocksource: always define CLOCKSOURCE_OF_DECLARE ...
2013-02-10ARM: ux500: use real AB8500 IRQ numbers instead of virtual onesLee Jones1-9/+1
Any devices wishing to use the AB8500's GPIO IRQs were forced to request virtual IRQs from the gpio-ab8500 driver. Now that responsibility has been passed back to the AB8500 core driver, devices can request real IRQ numbers instead. This patch removes any traces of the old virtual IRQ conversion handlers, which will force any drivers requesting IRQs to use real IRQS. 2012-12-24ARM: delete struct sys_timerStephen Warren1-2/+1
Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct, and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization function itself. This will enable moving timer drivers into drivers/clocksource without having to place a public prototype of each struct sys_timer object into include/linux; the intent is to create a single of_clocksource_init() function that determines which timer driver to initialize by scanning the device dtree, much like the proposed irqchip_init() at: http://www.spinics.net/lists/arm-kernel/msg203686.html Includes mach-omap2 fixes from Igor Grinberg. Pull ARM soc multiplatform enablement from Olof Johansson: "This is a pretty significant branch. It's the introduction of the first multiplatform support on ARM, and with this (and the later branch) merged, it is now possible to build one kernel that contains support for highbank, vexpress, mvebu, socfpga, and picoxcell. More platforms will be convered over in the next few releases. Two critical last things had to be done for this to be practical and possible: * Today each platform has its own include directory under mach-<mach>/include/mach/*, and traditionally that is where a lot of driver/platform shared definitions have gone, such as platform data structures. They now need to move out to a common location instead, and this branch moves a large number of those out to include/linux/platform_data. * Each platform used to list the device trees to compile for its boards in mach-<mach>/Makefile.boot. Both of the above changes will mean that there are some merge conflicts to come (and some to resolve here). It's a one-time move and once it settles in, we should be good for quite a while. Sorry for the overhead." Major thing here is that the Broadcom bcmring platform is removed. It's an SoC that's used on some stationary VoIP platforms, and is in desperate need of some cleanup. Broadcom came back and suggested that we just deprecate the platform for now, since they aren't going to spend the resources needed on cleaning it up, and there are no users of the platform directly from mainline." 2012-07-09ARM: ux500: Register the AB8500 from DB8500 MFDLee Jones1-1/+2
As the AB8500 is a subordinate MFD device to the DB8500-PRCMU, for consistency and a better 1:1 depiction of how the hardware is laid out, it is a good idea to register it in the same way as we do for the other MFD child devices. In order for us to do this successfully we have to pass AB8500's platform data when registering the DB8500-PRCMU from platform code. 2012-05-02ARM: ux500: delete U5500 supportLinus Walleij10-387/+2
This platform has been obsoleted and was only available inside of ST-Ericsson, no users of this code are left in the world. This deletes the core U5500 support entirely in the same manner as the obsoleted U8500 silicon was previously deleted. The cpu_is_u5500() macros that can read out the CPU ID is left until the next kernel cycle, this makes it possible to merge deletion of dependent drivers without breakage. This also has the upside of removing the mailbox driver which was our only driver that was outside the drivers/* hiearchy, now the machine directory only handles machines and nothing else.
