The Analog Devices Blackfin port was added in 2007 and was rather active for a while, but all work on it has come to a standstill over time, as Analog have changed their product line-up. Aaron Wu confirmed that the architecture port is no longer relevant, and multiple people suggested removing blackfin independently because of some of its oddities like a non-working SMP port, and the amount of duplication between the chip variants, which cause extra work when doing cross-architecture changes. Implement FETCH-OP atomic primitives, these are very similar to the existing OP-RETURN primitives we already have, except they return the value of the atomic variable _before_ modification. This is especially useful for irreversible operations -- such as bitops (because it becomes impossible to reconstruct the state prior to modification). 2011-07-26atomic: cleanup asm-generic atomic*.h inclusionArun Sharma1-3/+0
After changing all consumers of atomics to include <linux/atomic.h>, we ran into some compile time errors due to this dependency chain: linux/atomic.h -> asm/atomic.h -> asm-generic/atomic-long.h where atomic-long.h could use funcs defined later in linux/atomic.h without a prototype. This patches moves the code that includes asm-generic/atomic*.h to linux/atomic.h. Archs that need <asm-generic/atomic64.h> need to select CONFIG_GENERIC_ATOMIC64 from now on (some of them used to include it unconditionally). Compile tested on i386 and x86_64 with allnoconfig. Bill Gatliff & David Brownell pointed out we were missing some copyrights, and licensing terms in some of the files in ./arch/blackfin, so this fixes things, and cleans them up. It also removes: - verbose GPL text(refer to the top level ./COPYING file) - file names (you are looking at the file) - bug url (it's in the ./MAINTAINERS file) - "or later" on GPL-2, when we did not have that right It also allows some Blackfin-specific assembly files to be under a BSD like license (for people to use them outside of Linux).
