2018-03-09arch: remove frv portArnd Bergmann1-1178/+0
The Fujitsu FRV kernel port has been around for a long time, but has not seen regular updates in several years and instead was marked 'Orphaned' in 2016 by long-time maintainer David Howells. The SoC product line apparently is apparently still around in the form of the Socionext Milbeaut image processor, but this one no longer uses the FRV CPU cores. This removes all FRV specific files from the kernel. Link: http://www.socionext.com/en/products/assp/milbeaut/ Cc: David Howells <dhowells@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
2014-10-09frv: remove unused cpuinfo_frv and friends to fix future build errorGeert Uytterhoeven1-2/+0
Frv has a macro named cpu_data, interfering with variables and struct members with the same name: include/linux/pm_domain.h:75:24: error: expected identifier or '(' before '&' token struct gpd_cpu_data *cpu_data; As struct cpuinfo_frv, boot_cpu_data, cpu_data, and current_cpu_data are not used, removed them to fix this. 2013-07-14frv: delete __cpuinit usage from all frv filesPaul Gortmaker1-1/+1
The __cpuinit type of throwaway sections might have made sense some time ago when RAM was more constrained, but now the savings do not offset the cost and complications. For example, the fix in commit 5e427ec2d0 ("x86: Fix bit corruption at CPU resume time") is a good example of the nasty type of bugs that can be created with improper use of the various __init prefixes. After a discussion on LKML[1] it was decided that cpuinit should go the way of devinit and be phased out. Once all the users are gone, we can then finally remove the macros themselves from linux/init.h. Note that some harmless section mismatch warnings may result, since notify_cpu_starting() and cpu_up() are arch independent (kernel/cpu.c) are flagged as __cpuinit -- so if we remove the __cpuinit from arch specific callers, we will also get section mismatch warnings. As an intermediate step, we intend to turn the linux/init.h cpuinit content into no-ops as early as possible, since that will get rid of these warnings. In any case, they are temporary and harmless. This removes all the arch/frv uses of the __cpuinit macros from all C files. Currently frv does not have any __CPUINIT used in assembly files. 2013-07-03arch/frv/kernel/setup.c: use strncmp() instead of memcmp()Chen Gang1-1/+1
'cmdline' is a NUL terminated string, when its length < 4, memcmp() will cause memory access out of boundary. So use strncmp() instead of memcmp(). 2013-01-03ARCH: drivers remove __dev* attributes.Greg Kroah-Hartman1-1/+1
This fixes up all of the smaller arches that had __dev* markings for their platform-specific drivers. CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As a result, the __dev* markings need to be removed. This change removes the use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit from these drivers. Based on patches originally written by Bill Pemberton, but redone by me in order to handle some of the coding style issues better, by hand. 2008-02-07Introduce flags for reserve_bootmem()Bernhard Walle1-6/+10
This patchset adds a flags variable to reserve_bootmem() and uses the BOOTMEM_EXCLUSIVE flag in crashkernel reservation code to detect collisions between crashkernel area and already used memory. This patch: Change the reserve_bootmem() function to accept a new flag BOOTMEM_EXCLUSIVE. If that flag is set, the function returns with -EBUSY if the memory already has been reserved in the past. This is to avoid conflicts. Because that code runs before SMP initialisation, there's no race condition inside reserve_bootmem_core(). 2008-02-06calibrate_delay() must be __cpuinitAdrian Bunk1-1/+1
calibrate_delay() must be __cpuinit, not __{dev,}init. I've verified that this is correct for all users. 2007-05-08FRV: Miscellaneous fixesDavid Howells1-2/+2
Miscellaneous fixes to bring FRV up to date: (1) Copy the new syscall numbers from i386 to asm-frv/unistd.h and fill out the syscall table in entry.S too. (2) Mark __frv_uart0 and __frv_uart1 __pminitdata rather than __initdata so that determine_clocks() can access them when CONFIG_PM=y. (3) Make arch/frv/mm/elf-fdpic.c include asm/mman.h so that MAP_FIXED is available (fixes commit 2fd3bebaad9da3b3b99c46a3389099424bf7ee35). 2006-10-01[SERIAL] Remove wrong asm/serial.h inclusionsRussell King1-1/+0
asm/serial.h is supposed to contain the definitions for the architecture specific 8250 ports for the 8250 driver. It may also define BASE_BAUD, but this is the base baud for the architecture specific ports _only_. Therefore, nothing other than the 8250 driver should be including this header file. In order to move towards this goal, here is a patch which removes some of the more obvious incorrect includes of the file. 2006-07-03kbuild: introduce utsrelease.hSam Ravnborg1-1/+1
include/linux/version.h contained both actual KERNEL version and UTS_RELEASE that contains a subset from git SHA1 for when kernel was compiled as part of a git repository. This had the unfortunate side-effect that all files including version.h would be recompiled when some git changes was made due to changes SHA1. Split it out so we keep independent parts in separate files. Also update checkversion.pl script to no longer check for UTS_RELEASE. Signed-off-by: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org>

2005-04-16Linux-2.6.12-rc2Linus Torvalds1-0/+1194
Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
