2019-07-03powerpc/configs: Remove useless UEVENT_HELPER_PATHKrzysztof Kozlowski1-1/+0
Remove the CONFIG_UEVENT_HELPER_PATH because: 1. It is disabled since commit 1be01d4a5714 ("driver: base: Disable CONFIG_UEVENT_HELPER by default") as its dependency (UEVENT_HELPER) was made default to 'n', 2. It is not recommended (help message: "This should not be used today [...] creates a high system load") and was kept only for ancient userland, 3. Certain userland specifically requests it to be disabled (systemd README: "Legacy hotplug slows down the system and confuses udev"). 2017-08-28powerpc/configs: Update for CONFIG_NF_CT_PROTO_(SCTP|UDPLITE)=yMichael Ellerman1-1/+0
In commit a85406afeb3e ("netfilter: conntrack: built-in support for SCTP"), NF_CT_PROTO_SCTP switched from tristate to bool and became default y. Similarly in commit 9b91c96c5d1f ("netfilter: conntrack: built-in support for UDPlite"), NF_CT_PROTO_UDPLITE switched from tristate to bool and became default y. We had a few configs which set them to =m, which is no longer valid. We don't need to change them to =y because both symbols are default y and are enabled automatically based on the other symbols in the affected defconfigs. 2017-08-28powerpc/configs: Explicitly drop CONFIG_INPUT_MOUSEDEVMichael Ellerman1-1/+0
In commit 73d8ef76006b ("Input: mousedev - stop offering PS/2 to userspace by default") (Jan 2017), CONFIG_INPUT_MOUSEDEV was switched from default y to default n, with the explanation: Evdev interface has been available for many years and by now everyone is switched to using it, so let's stop offering /dev/input/mouseN and /dev/psaux by default. We had a number of configs which had it enabled, but going by the above explanation probably don't need it enabled anymore. So drop the last remnants of it from our defconfigs. It looks like it's ~4 years since we updated some of these, so do a bulk update. Verified that the before and after generated configs are exactly the same. Which begs the question why update them? 2011-03-30powerpc: Restore some misc devices to our configsStephen Rothwell1-0/+1
Uwe Kleine-König reported: while working on an defconfig (arm/mx27) I noticed that just updating it[1] results in removing CONFIG_EEPROM_AT24=y. The reason is that since commit v2.6.36-5965-g5f2365d (misc devices: do not enable by default) MISC_DEVICES isn't enabled anymore by default. So all defconfigs that have CONFIG_SOME_SYMBOL=y (or =m) (with SOME_SYMBOL depending on MISC_DEVICES) but not CONFIG_MISC_DEVICES=y suffer from the same problem. This restores those misc devices to the powerpc defconfigs. 2009-03-09powerpc: fix linkstation and storcenter compilation breakageGuennadi Liakhovetski1-14/+22
Defining flash partition table in platform code is deprecated, and due to recent changes linkstation and storcenter do not compile any more with their default configurations because of undefined references to physmap_set_partitions(). Instead of fixing them by using the correct kernel configuration macro in preprocessor conditional, remove partition table definitions altogether. Instead add support for partition definition on the command-line and in device tree to the default configurations. The i2c bus defn is broken on linkstation / kurobox machines since at least 2.6.27. Fix it. 2007-10-17[POWERPC] Enable SLUB in *_defconfigAnton Blanchard1-3/+4
When checking out the new NO_HZ support in powerpc, I noticed we never slept for more than 2 seconds. It turns out SLAB has a 2 second per cpu timer that causes this. After switching to SLUB I see some nice 4 second sleeps which is the limit on this POWER6 box (the decrementer ticks at 512MHz): slept 4.19 sec slept 4.19 sec slept 4.19 sec slept 4.19 sec slept 3.96 sec slept 3.80 sec slept 2.99 sec Since SLUB is now the default and some powerpc defconfigs already enable it, lets enable SLUB across the board for consistency. While doing this I also noticed that the maple defconfig has SLAB debugging enabled which is sure to make your box nice and slow. Fix that too. Linkstation systems capable of running mainline kernels use u-boot as a bootloader, so, specifying a suitable kernel command is not a problem. Don't guess. Also extend linkstation_defconfig to support the linkstation HS model with a IT8212 IDE controller and kuroboxHD/HD-HLAN linkstation models with a tulip ethernet chip. The latter also require a slightly different .dts file, which is also included with this patch.
