2007-06-29[POWERPC] Pass the pci_controller into pci_exclude_deviceKumar Gala1-0/+1
There are times that we need to know which controller we are on to decide how to exclude devices properly. We now pass the pci_controller that we are going to use down to the pci_exclude_device function. This will greatly simplify being able to exclude the PHBs in multiple controller setups. This copies the i8259 interrupt controller driver from arch/powerpc to arch/ppc. It's currently shared by both architectures, but the upcoming arch/powerpc interrupt changes will break the arch/ppc builds. The changes are too important to just use #ifdef's in the driver. 2006-03-28ppc: Remove CHRP, POWER3 and POWER4 support from arch/ppcPaul Mackerras1-2/+0
32-bit CHRP machines are now supported only in arch/powerpc, as are all 64-bit PowerPC processors. This means that we don't use Open Firmware on any platform in arch/ppc any more. This makes PReP support a single-platform option like every other platform support option in arch/ppc now, thus CONFIG_PPC_MULTIPLATFORM is gone from arch/ppc. CONFIG_PPC_PREP is the option that selects PReP support and is generally what has replaced CONFIG_PPC_MULTIPLATFORM within arch/ppc. _machine is all but dead now, being #defined to 0. This makes it possible to build kernels for PReP and/or CHRP with ARCH=ppc by removing the (non-building) powermac support. It's now also possible to select PReP and CHRP independently. Powermac users should now build with ARCH=powerpc instead of ARCH=ppc. (This does mean that it is no longer possible to build a 32-bit kernel for a G5.) 2005-10-26powerpc: Merge i8259.c into arch/powerpc/sysdevPaul Mackerras1-11/+8
This changes the parameters for i8259_init so that it takes two parameters: a physical address for generating an interrupt acknowledge cycle, and an interrupt number offset. i8259_init now sets the irq_desc[] for its interrupts; all the callers were doing this, and that code is gone now. This creates the directory structure under arch/powerpc and a bunch of Kconfig files. It does a first-cut merge of arch/powerpc/mm, arch/powerpc/lib and arch/powerpc/platforms/powermac. This is enough to build a 32-bit powermac kernel with ARCH=powerpc. For now we are getting some unmerged files from arch/ppc/kernel and arch/ppc/syslib, or arch/ppc64/kernel. This makes some minor changes to files in those directories and files outside arch/powerpc. The boot directory is still not merged. That's going to be interesting. Added ppc_sys device and system definitions for PowerQUICC I devices. This will allow drivers for PQI to be proper platform device drivers. Currently sys section contains only MPC885 and MPC866. Identification should be done with identify_ppc_sys_by_name call, with board-specific "name" string passed, since PQI do not have any register that could identify the SOC. This patch adds on-chip PCI bridge support for the PQ2 family. The incomplete existent code is updated with interrupt handling stuff and board-specific bits for 8272ADS and PQ2FADS; the related files were renamed (from m8260_pci to m82xx_pci) to be of more generic fashion. This is tested with 8266ADS and 8272ADS, should work on PQ2FADS as well. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
