2008-01-26[I2C] i2c-mv64xxx: Don't set i2c_adapter.retriesJean Delvare1-1/+0
I2C adapter drivers are supposed to handle retries on nack by themselves if they do, so there's no point in setting .retries if they don't. 2007-07-24[WATCHDOG] mv64x60_wdt: set up platform_device in platform codeDale Farnsworth1-0/+29
The driver previously registered its platform device data in its own init function--that's bogus. Move that code to platform-specific code in arch/ppc. This is being done so that the platform code can decide at runtime whether to initialize this driver or not. 2007-07-11sysfs: kill unnecessary attribute->ownerTejun Heo1-1/+0
sysfs is now completely out of driver/module lifetime game. After deletion, a sysfs node doesn't access anything outside sysfs proper, so there's no reason to hold onto the attribute owners. Note that often the wrong modules were accounted for as owners leading to accessing removed modules. This patch kills now unnecessary attribute->owner. Note that with this change, userland holding a sysfs node does not prevent the backing module from being unloaded. 2007-03-06mv643xx_eth: Place explicit port number in mv643xx_eth_platform_dataDale Farnsworth1-3/+9
We were using the platform_device.id field to identify which ethernet port is used for mv643xx_eth device. This is not generally correct. It will be incorrect, for example, if a hardware platform uses a single port but not the first port. Here, we add an explicit port_number field to struct mv643xx_eth_platform_data. This makes the mv643xx_eth_platform_data structure required, but that isn't an issue since all users currently provide it already. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
