2021-09-01drivers: base: cacheinfo: Get rid of DEFINE_SMP_CALL_CACHE_FUNCTION()Thomas Gleixner1-5/+2
DEFINE_SMP_CALL_CACHE_FUNCTION() was usefel before the CPU hotplug rework to ensure that the cache related functions are called on the upcoming CPU because the notifier itself could run on any online CPU. The hotplug state machine guarantees that the callbacks are invoked on the upcoming CPU. So there is no need to have this SMP function call obfuscation. That indirection was missed when the hotplug notifiers were converted. This also solves the problem of ARM64 init_cache_level() invoking ACPI functions which take a semaphore in that context. That's invalid as SMP function calls run with interrupts disabled. Running it just from the callback in context of the CPU hotplug thread solves this. 2020-09-15riscv: Add cache information in AUX vectorZong Li1-1/+31
There are no standard CSR registers to provide cache information, the way for RISC-V is to get this information from DT. Currently, AT_L1I_X, AT_L1D_X and AT_L2_X are present in glibc header, and sysconf syscall could use them to get information of cache through AUX vector. The result of 'getconf -a' as follows: LEVEL1_ICACHE_SIZE 32768 LEVEL1_ICACHE_ASSOC 8 LEVEL1_ICACHE_LINESIZE 64 LEVEL1_DCACHE_SIZE 32768 LEVEL1_DCACHE_ASSOC 8 LEVEL1_DCACHE_LINESIZE 64 LEVEL2_CACHE_SIZE 2097152 LEVEL2_CACHE_ASSOC 32 LEVEL2_CACHE_LINESIZE 64 Signed-off-by: Zong Li <zong.li@sifive.com> Reviewed-by: Palmer Dabbelt <palmerdabbelt@google.com> Reviewed-by: Pekka Enberg <penberg@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Palmer Dabbelt <palmerdabbelt@google.com>

2020-05-20riscv: cacheinfo: Implement cache_get_priv_group with a generic ops structureYash Shah1-0/+17
Implement cache_get_priv_group() that will make use of a generic ops structure to return a private attribute group for custom cache info. Using riscv_set_cacheinfo_ops() users can hook their own custom function to return the private attribute group for cacheinfo. In future we can add more ops to this generic ops structure for SOC specific cacheinfo. 2018-10-22RISC-V: Don't set cacheinfo.{physical_line_partition,attributes}Palmer Dabbelt1-7/+0
These are just hard coded in the RISC-V port, which doesn't make any sense. We should probably be setting these from device tree entries when they exist, but for now I think it's saner to just leave them all as their default values. 2018-05-17drivers: base: cacheinfo: setup DT cache properties earlyJeremy Linton1-1/+0
The original intent in cacheinfo was that an architecture specific populate_cache_leaves() would probe the hardware and then cache_shared_cpu_map_setup() and cache_override_properties() would provide firmware help to extend/expand upon what was probed. Arm64 was really the only architecture that was working this way, and with the removal of most of the hardware probing logic it became clear that it was possible to simplify the logic a bit. This patch combines the walk of the DT nodes with the code updating the cache size/line_size and nr_sets. cache_override_properties() (which was DT specific) is then removed. The result is that cacheinfo.of_node is no longer used as a temporary place to hold DT references for future calls that update cache properties. That change helps to clarify its one remaining use (matching cacheinfo nodes that represent shared caches) which will be used by the ACPI/PPTT code in the following patches.
