2022-09-11treewide: defconfig: address renamed CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO=yArnd Bergmann1-1/+1
CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO is now implicitly selected if one picks one of the explicit options that could be DEBUG_INFO_DWARF_TOOLCHAIN_DEFAULT, DEBUG_INFO_DWARF4, DEBUG_INFO_DWARF5. This was actually not what I had in mind when I suggested making it a 'choice' statement, but it's too late to change again now, and the Kconfig logic is more sensible in the new form. Change any defconfig file that had CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO enabled but did not pick DWARF4 or DWARF5 explicitly to now pick the toolchain default. 2022-04-22binfmt_flat: Remove shared library supportEric W. Biederman1-1/+0
In a recent discussion[1] it was reported that the binfmt_flat library support was only ever used on m68k and even on m68k has not been used in a very long time. The structure of binfmt_flat is different from all of the other binfmt implementations because of this shared library support and it made life and code review more effort when I refactored the code in fs/exec.c. Since in practice the code is dead remove the binfmt_flat shared library support and make maintenance of the code easier. 2021-01-29arch: sh: Remove CONFIG_OPROFILE supportViresh Kumar1-1/+0
The "oprofile" user-space tools don't use the kernel OPROFILE support any more, and haven't in a long time. User-space has been converted to the perf interfaces. Remove the old oprofile's architecture specific support. 2020-06-01sh: configs: Cleanup old Kconfig IO scheduler optionsKrzysztof Kozlowski1-2/+0
CONFIG_IOSCHED_DEADLINE and CONFIG_IOSCHED_CFQ are gone since commit f382fb0bcef4 ("block: remove legacy IO schedulers"). The IOSCHED_DEADLINE was replaced by MQ_IOSCHED_DEADLINE and it will be now enabled by default (along with MQ_IOSCHED_KYBER). The BFQ_GROUP_IOSCHED is the only multiqueue scheduler which comes with group scheduling so select it in configs previously choosing CFQ_GROUP_IOSCHED. 2019-06-10sh: configs: Remove useless UEVENT_HELPER_PATHKrzysztof Kozlowski1-1/+0
Remove the CONFIG_UEVENT_HELPER_PATH because: 1. It is disabled since commit 1be01d4a5714 ("driver: base: Disable CONFIG_UEVENT_HELPER by default") as its dependency (UEVENT_HELPER) was made default to 'n', 2. It is not recommended (help message: "This should not be used today [...] creates a high system load") and was kept only for ancient userland, 3. Certain userland specifically requests it to be disabled (systemd README: "Legacy hotplug slows down the system and confuses udev").
