When failed to register irq in xgene_enet_open() for opening device, napi isn't disabled. When open xgene device next time, it will reports a invalid opcode issue. Fix it. We tell driver developers to always pass NAPI_POLL_WEIGHT as the weight to netif_napi_add(). This may be confusing to newcomers, drop the weight argument, those who really need to tweak the weight can use netif_napi_add_weight(). 2022-03-23drivers: net: xgene: Fix regression in CRC strippingStephane Graber1-5/+7
All packets on ingress (except for jumbo) are terminated with a 4-bytes CRC checksum. It's the responsability of the driver to strip those 4 bytes. Unfortunately a change dating back to March 2017 re-shuffled some code and made the CRC stripping code effectively dead. This change re-orders that part a bit such that the datalen is immediately altered if needed. 2021-10-14ethernet: constify references to netdev->dev_addr in driversJakub Kicinski3-3/+3
This big patch sprinkles const on local variables and function arguments which may refer to netdev->dev_addr. Commit 406f42fa0d3c ("net-next: When a bond have a massive amount of VLANs...") introduced a rbtree for faster Ethernet address look up. To maintain netdev->dev_addr in this tree we need to make all the writes to it got through appropriate helpers. Some of the changes here are not strictly required - const is sometimes cast off but pointer is not used for writing. It seems like it's still better to add the const in case the code changes later or relevant -W flags get enabled for the build. No functional changes. fwnode_get_mac_address() and device_get_mac_address() return a pointer to the buffer that was passed to them on success or NULL on failure. None of the callers care about the actual value, only if it's NULL or not. These semantics differ from of_get_mac_address() which returns an int so to avoid confusion make the device helpers return an errno. This header file is currently included into the ethernet driver via a relative path into the PHY subsystem. This is bad practice, and causes issues for the upcoming move of the MDIO driver. 'alloc_etherdev_mqs()' expects first 'tx', then 'rx'. The semantic here looks reversed. Reorder the arguments passed to 'alloc_etherdev_mqs()' in order to keep the correct semantic. Remove dependencies on HAS_DMA where a Kconfig symbol depends on another symbol that implies HAS_DMA, and, optionally, on "|| COMPILE_TEST". In most cases this other symbol is an architecture or platform specific symbol, or PCI. Generic symbols and drivers without platform dependencies keep their dependencies on HAS_DMA, to prevent compiling subsystems or drivers that cannot work anyway. This simplifies the dependencies, and allows to improve compile-testing. This change fixes following problem [ 1.827940] xgene-enet: probe of 1f210030.ethernet failed with error -2 which leads to a missing ethernet interface (reproducable at least on Gigabyte MP30-AR0 and APM Mustang systems). The check for a valid clk resource fails, because DT doesn't provide a clock for sgenet1. But the driver doesn't use this clk, if the ethernet port is connected via SGMII. Therefore this patch avoids probing for clk on SGMII interfaces.
