2015-08-16iwlwifi: convert hex_dump_to_buffer() to %*phAndy Shevchenko1-6/+2
There is no need to use hex_dump_to_buffer() in the cases like this: hexdump_to_buffer(buf, len, 16, 1, outbuf, outlen, false); /* len <= 16 */ sprintf("%s\n", outbuf); since it maybe easily converted to simple: sprintf("%*ph\n", len, buf); Note: it seems in one case the output is groupped by 2 bytes and looks like a typo. Thus, patch changes that to plain byte stream. Signed-off-by: Andy Shevchenko <andriy.shevchenko@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Emmanuel Grumbach <emmanuel.grumbach@intel.com>
2014-05-13iwlwifi: remove CMD_SYNCEmmanuel Grumbach1-4/+3
CMD_SYNC is really 0 which is confusing: if (cmd.flags & CMD_SYNC) is always false. Fix this by simply removing its definition. Signed-off-by: Emmanuel Grumbach <emmanuel.grumbach@intel.com>

2013-11-25cfg80211: consolidate passive-scan and no-ibss flagsLuis R. Rodriguez1-4/+4
These two flags are used for the same purpose, just combine them into a no-ir flag to annotate no initiating radiation is allowed. Old userspace sending either flag will have it treated as the no-ir flag. To be considerate to older userspace we also send both the no-ir flag and the old no-ibss flags. Newer userspace will have to be aware of older kernels. 2013-07-16iwlwifi: remove forward debugfs function declarationsJohannes Berg1-15/+0
There's no need to have 'forward' debugfs function declarations as part of the macros because the macros are always used after the static functions are defined already, so remove them. If on iwl_dump_nic_event_log() error occurs before that function initialize buf, we process uninitiated pointer in iwl_dbgfs_log_event_read() and can hit "BUG at mm/slub.c:3409" Resolves: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=951241 Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org Reported-by: ian.odette@eprize.com Signed-off-by: Stanislaw Gruszka <sgruszka@redhat.com> Reviewed-by: Emmanuel Grumbach <emmanuel.grumbach@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>
2013-03-06iwlwifi: move firmware restart debugfs hook to op_modeEmmanuel Grumbach1-0/+24
This allows to test fw restart flow. The hook in transport layer doesn't really make the fw assert. Moving this hook to the op_mode allows to use the fw API to actually send a host command that will make the fw assert. Change the restart_fw module parameter to be a boolean on the way. 2012-12-06iwlwifi: Change define and struct names in iwl-eeprom-parse.hEytan Lifshitz1-6/+6
Since we will have several forms of NVM (EEPROM, OTP, etc.) and they will have different layouts, make the parsed data more generic. This allows functional code to be independent of a specific layout. Also change some variables and function names from having "eeprom" to "nvm" in their name. 2012-11-05iwlwifi: fix queue flush confusionJohannes Berg1-1/+1
The flush_control parameter to iwlagn_txfifo_flush is passed as an internal value (context flags) and then sent to the device, that can't be right. Fix the confusion by removing the parameter, always use IWL_DROP_ALL that is redefined according to the firmware API in the flush control. 2012-08-21iwlwifi: protect SRAM debugfsJohannes Berg1-0/+3
If the device is not started, we can't read its SRAM and attempting to do so will cause issues. Protect the debugfs read. Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>
2012-07-26iwlwifi: rework the iwlwifi debugfs structureMeenakshi Venkataraman1-28/+28
The generic part of the driver now creates all debugfs directories. It creates a root directory directly in the the root of the debugfs filesystem and within that directories for each device, named after the device ID of the devices iwlwifi is attached to. In the cfg80211/mac80211 directory there's now a link to the toplevel iwlwifi debugfs directory to make it easier to find the debugfs files. 2012-07-03iwlwifi: disallow log_event access if interface downRichard A. Griffiths1-1/+5
'echo 1 > log_event' generates the bogus "MAC is in deep sleep" or "Timeout waiting for hardware access" log messages when the interface is down, we should just disallow accessing the device through debugfs when it is down. 2012-06-06iwlwifi: refactor EEPROM reading/parsingJohannes Berg1-15/+8
The EEPROM reading/parsing code is all mixed in the driver today, and the EEPROM is parsed only when we access data from it. This is problematic because the NVM needs to be parsed and that is independent of reading it. Also, the NVM format for new devices will be different and probably require a new parser. Therefore refactor the reading and parsing and create two independent components. Reading the EEPROM requires direct hardware accesses and therefore access to the transport, but parsing is independent and can be done on an NVM blob.
