2024-05-13net: ena: Changes around strscpy callsDavid Arinzon1-4/+12
strscpy copies as much of the string as possible, meaning that the destination string will be truncated in case of no space. As this is a non-critical error in our case, adding a debug level print for indication. This patch also removes a -1 which was added to ensure enough space for NUL, but strscpy destination string is guaranteed to be NUL-terminted, therefore, the -1 is not needed. 2024-01-03net: ena: Move XDP code to its new filesDavid Arinzon1-0/+1
XDP system has a very large footprint in the driver's overall code. makes the whole driver's code much harder to read. Moving XDP code to dedicated files. This patch doesn't make any changes to the code itself and only cut-pastes the code into ena_xdp.c and ena_xdp.h files so the change is purely cosmetic. 2023-12-13net: ethtool: pass a pointer to parameters to get/set_rxfh ethtool opsAhmed Zaki1-14/+14
The get/set_rxfh ethtool ops currently takes the rxfh (RSS) parameters as direct function arguments. This will force us to change the API (and all drivers' functions) every time some new parameters are added. This is part 1/2 of the fix, as suggested in [1]: - First simplify the code by always providing a pointer to all params (indir, key and func); the fact that some of them may be NULL seems like a weird historic thing or a premature optimization. It will simplify the drivers if all pointers are always present. - Then make the functions take a dev pointer, and a pointer to a single struct wrapping all arguments. The set_* should also take an extack. 2023-12-08net: Convert some ethtool_sprintf() to ethtool_puts()justinstitt@google.com1-2/+2
This patch converts some basic cases of ethtool_sprintf() to ethtool_puts(). The conversions are used in cases where ethtool_sprintf() was being used with just two arguments: | ethtool_sprintf(&data, buffer[i].name); or when it's used with format string: "%s" | ethtool_sprintf(&data, "%s", buffer[i].name); which both now become: | ethtool_puts(&data, buffer[i].name); Signed-off-by: Justin Stitt <justinstitt@google.com> Reviewed-by: Wei Fang <wei.fang@nxp.com> Reviewed-by: Andrew Lunn <andrew@lunn.ch> Reviewed-by: Louis Peens <louis.peens@corigine.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Such large rx_copybreak will not bring any performance benefit to the user and therefore makes no sense. 2022-01-07net: ena: Change ENI stats support check to use capabilities fieldArthur Kiyanovski1-5/+8
Use the capabilities field to query the device for ENI stats support. This replaces the previous method that tried to get the ENI stats during ena_probe() and used the success or failure as an indication for support by the device. Remove eni_stats_supported field from struct ena_adapter. This field was used for the previous method of queriying for ENI stats support. Change the severity level of the print in case of ena_com_get_eni_stats() failure from info to error. With the previous method of querying form ENI stats support, failure to get ENI stats was normal for devices that don't support it. With the use of the capabilities field such a failure is unexpected, as it is called only if the device reported that it supports ENI stats. 2020-12-09net: ena: introduce XDP redirect implementationShay Agroskin1-0/+1
This patch adds a partial support for the XDP_REDIRECT directive which instructs the driver to pass the packet to an interface specified by the program. The directive is passed to the driver by calling bpf_redirect() or bpf_redirect_map() functions from the eBPF program. To lay the ground for integration with the existing XDP TX implementation the patch removes the redundant page ref count increase in ena_xdp_xmit_frame() and then decrease in ena_clean_rx_irq(). Instead it only DMA unmaps descriptors for which XDP TX or REDIRECT directive was received. The XDP Redirect support is still missing .ndo_xdp_xmit function implementation, which allows to redirect packet to an ENA interface, which would be added in a later patch. 2020-02-11net: ena: fix incorrectly saving queue numbers when setting RSS indirection tableArthur Kiyanovski1-1/+23
The indirection table has the indices of the Rx queues. When we store it during set indirection operation, we convert the indices to our internal representation of the indices. Our internal representation of the indices is: even indices for Tx and uneven indices for Rx, where every Tx/Rx pair are in a consecutive order starting from 0. For example if the driver has 3 queues (3 for Tx and 3 for Rx) then the indices are as follows: 0 1 2 3 4 5 Tx Rx Tx Rx Tx Rx The BUG: The issue is that when we satisfy a get request for the indirection table, we don't convert the indices back to the original representation. This function reports all software timestamping capabilities (tx and rx), as well as setting phc_index = -1. phc_index is the index of the PTP hardware clock device that will be used for hardware timestamps. 2019-12-20net: ena: fix issues in setting interrupt moderation params in ethtoolArthur Kiyanovski1-14/+10
Issue 1: -------- Reproduction steps: 1. sudo ethtool -C eth0 rx-usecs 128 2. sudo ethtool -C eth0 adaptive-rx on 3. sudo ethtool -C eth0 adaptive-rx off 4. ethtool -c eth0 expected output: rx-usecs 128 actual output: rx-usecs 0 Reason for issue: In stage 3, ethtool userspace calls first the ena_get_coalesce() handler to get the current value of all properties, and then the ena_set_coalesce() handler. When ena_get_coalesce() is called the adaptive interrupt moderation is still on. There is an if in the code that returns the rx_coalesce_usecs only if the adaptive interrupt moderation is off. And since it is still on, rx_coalesce_usecs is not set, meaning it stays 0. Solution to issue: Remove this if static interrupt moderation intervals have nothing to do with dynamic ones. Issue 2: -------- Reproduction steps: 1. sudo ethtool -C eth0 adaptive-rx on 2. sudo ethtool -C eth0 rx-usecs 128 3. ethtool -c eth0 expected output: rx-usecs 128 actual output: rx-usecs 0 Reason for issue: In stage 2, when ena_set_coalesce() is called, the handler tests if rx adaptive interrupt moderation is on, and if it is, it returns before getting to the part in the function that sets the rx non-adaptive interrupt moderation interval. Solution to issue: Remove the return from the function when rx adaptive interrupt moderation is on. Also cleaned up the fixed code in ena_set_coalesce by grouping together adaptive interrupt moderation toggling, and using && instead of nested ifs. 2019-12-12net: ena: Implement XDP_TX actionSameeh Jubran1-1/+3
This commit implements the XDP_TX action in the ena driver. We allocate separate tx queues for the XDP_TX. We currently allow xdp only when there is enough queues to allocate for xdp. Signed-off-by: Sameeh Jubran <sameehj@amazon.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2019-10-07net: ena: ethtool: support set_channels callbackSameeh Jubran1-0/+13
Set channels callback enables the user to change the count of queues used by the driver using ethtool. We decided to currently support only equal number of rx and tx queues, this might change in the future. Also rename dev_up to dev_was_up in ena_update_queue_count() to make it clearer. 2019-10-07net: ena: make ethtool -l show correct max number of queuesSameeh Jubran1-1/+1
- Update ena_ethtool:ena_get_channels() to return adapter->max_io_queues so that ethtool -l returns the correct maximum queue number. - Change the name of ena_calc_io_queue_num() to ena_calc_max_io_queue_num() as it returns the maximum number of io queues and actual number of queues can be smaller if changed by ethtool -L which is implemented in a later commit. - Change variable name from io_queue_num to max_num_io_queues in ena_calc_max_io_queue_num() and ena_probe(). - Make all types of variables that convey the number and sizeof queues to be u32, for consistency with the API between the driver and the device. 2019-10-07net: ena: ethtool: get_channels: use combined onlySameeh Jubran1-8/+2
Since we use the same IRQ and NAPI to service RX and TX then we need to use a combined channel instead of rx and tx channels. Signed-off-by: Sameeh Jubran <sameehj@amazon.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2019-10-07net: ena: change num_queues to num_io_queues for clarity and consistencySameeh Jubran1-10/+10
Most places in the code refer to the IO queues as io_queues and not simply queues. Examples - max_io_queues_per_vf, ENA_MAX_NUM_IO_QUEUES, ena_destroy_all_io_queues() etc.. We are also adding the new max_num_io_queues field to struct ena_adapter in the following commit. The changes included in this commit are: struct ena_adapter->num_queues => struct ena_adapter->num_io_queues Signed-off-by: Arthur Kiyanovski <akiyano@amazon.com> Signed-off-by: Sameeh Jubran <sameehj@amazon.com> Signed-off-by: David S.
