Pull pci updates from Bjorn Helgaas:
"Enumeration:
- Skip E820 checks for MCFG ECAM regions for new (2016+) machines,
since there's no requirement to describe them in E820 and some
platforms require ECAM to work (Bjorn Helgaas)
- Rename PCI_IRQ_LEGACY to PCI_IRQ_INTX to be more specific (Damien
Le Moal)

and Unsupported Request errors are an expected part of enumeration
(Vidya Sagar)
MSI:
- Remove unused IMS (Interrupt Message Store) support (Bjorn Helgaas)
Error handling:
- Mask Genesys GL975x SD host controller Replay Timer Timeout
correctable errors caused by a hardware defect; the errors cause
interrupts that prevent system suspend (Kai-Heng Feng)

but assumed revision 6 behavior (Kuppuswamy Sathyanarayanan)
ASPM:
- Simplify link state definitions and mask calculation (Ilpo
Järvinen)
Power management:
- Avoid D3cold for HP Pavilion 17 PC/1972 PCIe Ports, where BIOS
apparently doesn't know how to put them back in D0 (Mario
Limonciello)
CXL:
- Support resetting CXL devices; special handling required because
CXL Ports mask Secondary Bus Reset by default (Dave Jiang)
DOE:
- Support DOE Discovery Version 2 (Alexey Kardashevskiy)
Endpoint framework:
- Set endpoint BAR to be 64-bit if the driver says that's all the
device supports, in addition to doing so if the size is >2GB
(Niklas Cassel)
- Simplify endpoint BAR allocation and setting interfaces (Niklas
Cassel)
Cadence PCIe controller driver:
- Drop DT binding redundant msi-parent and pci-bus.yaml (Krzysztof
Kozlowski)

BAR value (Niklas Cassel)
Freescale Layerscape PCIe controller driver:
- Convert DT binding to YAML (Frank Li)
MediaTek MT7621 PCIe controller driver:
- Add DT binding missing 'reg' property for child Root Ports
(Krzysztof Kozlowski)
- Fix theoretical string truncation in PHY name (Sergio Paracuellos)
NVIDIA Tegra194 PCIe controller driver:
- Return success for endpoint probe instead of falling through to the
failure path (Vidya Sagar)
Renesas R-Car PCIe controller driver:
- Add DT binding missing IOMMU properties (Geert Uytterhoeven)
- Add DT binding R-Car V4H compatible for host and endpoint mode
(Yoshihiro Shimoda)
Rockchip PCIe controller driver:

BAR value (Niklas Cassel)
- Add DT binding missing maxItems to ep-gpios (Krzysztof Kozlowski)
- Set the Subsystem Vendor ID, which was previously zero because it
was masked incorrectly (Rick Wertenbroek)
Synopsys DesignWare PCIe controller driver:
- Restructure DBI register access to accommodate devices where this
requires Refclk to be active (Manivannan Sadhasivam)
- Remove the deinit() callback, which was only need by the
pcie-rcar-gen4, and do it directly in that driver (Manivannan
Sadhasivam)
- Add dw_pcie_ep_cleanup() so drivers that support PERST# can clean
up things like eDMA (Manivannan Sadhasivam)
- Rename dw_pcie_ep_exit() to dw_pcie_ep_deinit() to make it parallel
to dw_pcie_ep_init() (Manivannan Sadhasivam)
- Rename dw_pcie_ep_init_complete() to dw_pcie_ep_init_registers() to
reflect the actual functionality (Manivannan Sadhasivam)
- Call dw_pcie_ep_init_registers() directly from all the glue
drivers, not just those that require active Refclk from the host
(Manivannan Sadhasivam)
- Remove the "core_init_notifier" flag, which was an obscure way for
glue drivers to indicate that they depend on Refclk from the host
(Manivannan Sadhasivam)
TI J721E PCIe driver:
- Add DT binding J784S4 SoC Device ID (Siddharth Vadapalli)
- Add DT binding J722S SoC support (Siddharth Vadapalli)
TI Keystone PCIe controller driver:
- Add DT binding missing num-viewport, phys and phy-name properties
(Jan Kiszka)
Miscellaneous:

A mouse that uses a USB connection is called a "USB mouse" device (or
"USB mouse" for short), not a "mouse USB" device. By analogy, a WiFi
adapter that connects to the host computer via USB is a "USB wireless"
device, not a "wireless USB" device. (The latter term more properly
refers to a defunct Wireless USB specification, which described a
technology for sending USB protocol messages over an ultra wideband
radio link.)
Similarly for a WiFi adapter card that plugs into a PCIe slot: It is a
"PCIe wireless" device, not a "wireless PCIe" device.

To support stations in power saving mode, AP should notify stations
that there are frames buffered at the AP via TIM during beacons.
Driver used to transmit identical beacons that were downloaded to
hardware during the initiation phase. This beacon will become
obsolete over time.
If the beacon does not contain sufficient information, station would
not be able to percept that there is data to receive. Hence it won't
wake up and start the PS-poll procedure, this could lead to timeout
and/or lost data segments. In order to resolve this issue, driver will
now download beacon to hardware whenever the content is updated.
Enable hardware to update dtim_count for more efficiency, this reduces
the overhead of downloading beacon at every beacon interval since most
of the time only the dtim_count needs to be updated.
Change queue mapping for broadcast/multicast frames to high queue, so
these frames can be prioritized and sent when dtim_count is zero.

Many Intel based platforms face system random freeze after commit
9e2fd29864c5 ("rtw88: add napi support").
The commit itself shouldn't be the culprit. My guess is that the 8821CE
only leaves ASPM L1 for a short period when IRQ is raised. Since IRQ is
masked during NAPI polling, the PCIe link stays at L1 and makes RX DMA
extremely slow. Eventually the RX ring becomes messed up:
[ 1133.194697] rtw_8821ce 0000:02:00.0: pci bus timeout, check dma status
Since the 8821CE hardware may fail to leave ASPM L1, manually do it in
the driver to resolve the issue.

The rtw_pci_init_rx_ring function is only ever called with a fixed
constant or RTK_MAX_RX_DESC_NUM for the "len" argument. Since this
constant is defined as 512, the "if (len > TRX_BD_IDX_MASK)" check
can never happen (TRX_BD_IDX_MASK is defined as GENMASK(11, 0) or in
other words as 4095).
So, remove this check.

We used to stop napi before disabling irqs. And it turns out
to cause some problem when we try to stop device while interrupt arrives.
To safely stop pci, we do three steps:
1. disable interrupt
2. synchronize_irq
3. stop_napi
Since step 2 and 3 may not finish as expected when interrupt is enabled,
use rtwpci->running to decide whether interrupt should be re-enabled at
the time.

If there are lots of packets to be transmitted, the driver would check
whether the available descriptors are sufficient according the read/write
point of tx queue. Once the available descriptor is not enough,
ieee80211_stop_queue is called.
TX ISR, meanwhile, is releasing the tx resources after the packets are
transmitted. This routine may call ieee80211_wake_queue by checking the
available descriptor.
The potential queue stop problem would occur when the tx queue is
stopped due to the heavy traffic. Then thare is no chance to wake the
queue up because the read point is not updated immediately, as a result,
no more packets coulde be transmitted in this queue.
This patch makes sure the ieee80211_wake_queue could be called properly
and avoids the race condition when ring->r.rp, ring->queue_stopped are
updated.

Use napi to reduce overhead on rx interrupts.
Driver used to interrupt kernel for every Rx packet, this could
affect both system and network performance. NAPI is a mechanism that
uses polling when processing huge amount of traffic, by doing this
the number of interrupts can be decreased.
Network performance can also benefit from this patch. Since TCP
connection is bidirectional and acks are required for every several
packets. These ack packets occupie the PCI bus bandwidth and could
lead to performance degradation.
When napi is used, GRO receive is enabled by default in the mac80211
stack. So mac80211 won't pass every RX TCP packets to the kernel TCP
network stack immediately. Instead an aggregated large length TCP packet
will be delivered.
This reduces the tx acks sent and gains rx performance. After the patch,
the Rx throughput increases about 25Mbps in 11ac.

So let's power cycle the device by putting the device to D3 at shutdown

This handles the situation when firmware crashes.
When firmware crashes, it will send an interrupt, and driver will queue
a work for recovery.
In the work, driver will reset it's internal association state, which
includes removing associated sta's macid, resetting vifs' states
and removing keys. After resetting the driver's state, driver will call
rtw_enter_ips() to force the chipset power off to reset the chip.
Finally, driver calls ieee80211_restart_hw() to inform mac80211 stack
to restart.
Since only 8822c firmware supports this feature, the interrupt will only
be triggered when 8822c chipset is loaded.

When memory is allocated in 'rtw_pci_init_tx_ring()' and

Some platforms cannot read the DBI register successfully for the
ASPM settings. After the read failed, the bus could be unstable,
and the device just became unavailable [1]. For those platforms,
the ASPM should be disabled. But as the ASPM can help the driver
to save the power consumption in power save mode, the ASPM is still
needed. So, add a module parameter for them to disable it, then
the device can still work, while others can benefit from the less
power consumption that brings by ASPM enabled.

In the current design, chip entry points are built into
the pci module. That makes the pci module depend on chips.
According to dependence, once the pci module is loaded,
kernel will load chip functionalities, including those that
may not be currently used.
We plan to split chip entry points from the pci module.
Thence we export pci symbols that will be used in chip
entry point modules.

that is the moment before rebooting. To save BT USB power, we can't do this

The rtw88 driver defines emtpy functions with multiple indirections
but gets one of these wrong:
drivers/net/wireless/realtek/rtw88/pci.c:1347:12: error: 'rtw_pci_resume' defined but not used [-Werror=unused-function]
1347 | static int rtw_pci_resume(struct device *dev)
| ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~
drivers/net/wireless/realtek/rtw88/pci.c:1342:12: error: 'rtw_pci_suspend' defined but not used [-Werror=unused-function]
1342 | static int rtw_pci_suspend(struct device *dev)
Better simplify it to rely on the conditional reference in
SIMPLE_DEV_PM_OPS(), and mark the functions as __maybe_unused to avoid
warning about it.
I'm not sure if these are needed at all given that the functions
don't do anything, but they were only recently added.

Driver used to kick off every TX packets, that will waste some
time while we can do better to kick off the TX packets once after
they are all prepared to be transmitted.
For PCI, it uses DMA engine to transfer the SKBs to the device,
and the transition of the state of the DMA engine could be a cost.
Driver can save some time to kick off multiple SKBs once so that
the DMA engine will have only one transition.
So, split rtw_hci_ops::tx() to rtw_hci_ops::tx_write() and
rtw_hci_ops::tx_kick_off() to explicitly kick the SKBs off after
they are written to the prepared buffer. For packets come from
ieee80211_ops::tx(), write one and then kick it off immediately.
For packets queued in TX queue, which come from
ieee80211_ops::wake_tx_queue(), we can dequeue them, write them
to the buffer, and then kick them off together.

Extract skb allocation routines for rsvd_page and h2c.

This driver generally only needs to ensure that
(a) it doesn't try to process TX interrupts at the same time as
power-save operations (and similar)
(b) the device interrupt gets disabled while we're still handling the
last set of interrupts
For (a), all the operations (e.g., PS transitions, packet handling)
happens in non-atomic contexts (e.g., threaded IRQ).
For (b), we only need mutual exclusion for brief sections (i.e., while
we're actually manipulating the interrupt mask/status).
So, we can introduce a separate lock for handling (b), disabling IRQs
while we do it. For (a), we can demote the locking to BH only, now that
(b) (the only steps done in atomic context) and that has its own lock.
This helps reduce the amount of time this driver spends with IRQs off.
Notably, transitioning out of power-save modes can take >3 milliseconds,
and this transition is done under the protection of 'irq_lock'.
