2025-05-27net: lan743x: Fix PHY reset handling during initialization and WOLThangaraj Samynathan1-9/+4
Remove lan743x_phy_init from lan743x_hardware_init as it resets the PHY registers, causing WOL to fail on subsequent attempts. Add a call to lan743x_hw_reset_phy in the probe function to ensure the PHY is reset during device initialization. 2025-05-20net: lan743x: Restore SGMII CTRL register on resumeThangaraj Samynathan1-9/+10
SGMII_CTRL register, which specifies the active interface, was not properly restored when resuming from suspend. This led to incorrect interface selection after resume particularly in scenarios involving the FPGA. To fix this: - Move the SGMII_CTRL setup out of the probe function. - Initialize the register in the hardware initialization helper function, which is called during both device initialization and resume. This ensures the interface configuration is consistently restored after suspend/resume cycles. 2025-05-15net: lan743x: implement ndo_hwtstamp_get()Vladimir Oltean1-0/+2
Permit programs such as "hwtstamp_ctl -i eth0" to retrieve the current timestamping configuration of the NIC, rather than returning "Device driver does not have support for non-destructive SIOCGHWTSTAMP." The driver configures all channels with the same timestamping settings. On TX, retrieve the settings of the first channel, those should be representative for the entire NIC. 2025-04-16net: lan743x: Allocate rings outside ZONE_DMAThangaraj Samynathan1-2/+1

2024-04-08net: lan743x: Fixup EEEAndrew Lunn1-0/+7
The enabling/disabling of EEE in the MAC should happen as a result of auto negotiation. So move the enable/disable into lan743x_phy_link_status_change() which gets called by phylib when there is a change in link status. lan743x_ethtool_set_eee() now just programs the hardware with the LTI timer value, and passed everything else to phylib, so it can correctly setup the PHY. lan743x_ethtool_get_eee() relies on phylib doing most of the work, the MAC driver just adds the LTI timer value. 2023-10-24net: microchip: lan743x: improve throughput with rx timestamp configVishvambar Panth S1-1/+44
Currently all RX frames are timestamped which results in a performance penalty when timestamping is not needed. The default is now being changed to not timestamp any Rx frames (HWTSTAMP_FILTER_NONE), but support has been added to allow changing the desired RX timestamping mode (HWTSTAMP_FILTER_ALL - which was the previous setting and HWTSTAMP_FILTER_PTP_V2_EVENT are now supported) using SIOCSHWTSTAMP. All settings were tested using the hwstamp_ctl application. It is also noted that ptp4l, when started, preconfigures the device to timestamp using HWTSTAMP_FILTER_PTP_V2_EVENT, so this driver continues to work properly "out of the box". 2023-09-17net: microchip: lan743x: add fixed phy unregister supportPavithra Sathyanarayanan1-0/+6
When operating in fixed phy mode and if there is repeated open/close phy test cases, everytime the fixed phy is registered as a new phy which leads to overrun after 32 iterations. It is solved by adding fixed_phy_unregister() in the phy_close path. In phy_close path, netdev->phydev cannot be used directly in fixed_phy_unregister() due to two reasons, - netdev->phydev is set to NULL in phy_disconnect() - fixed_phy_unregister() can be called only after phy_disconnect() So saving the netdev->phydev in local variable 'phydev' and passing it to phy_disconnect().
